Just watching the Olympic mens tri I don't like the blocking that everyone is doing. Is this not a individual sport? Also I didn't think you could draft? One of 3 Canadians has been asked to block and help Simon Win. get to the medals. What's with that. If you can't do it yourself you don't deserve to be there. Just my op.

Personally I like that the bike races at this level mimic cycling road races more so that time trials. My opinion is that part of being a triathlon is excelling at the three sports. Thus the technical and strategy aspect of the bike portion should be a factor in the race.  And when these guys are all at such amazing and similar fitness levels, using a team strategy can create an opportunity for better success overall.

We were on our feet cheering watching the last 15 minutes.  And on the radio this morning they kept going on and on about Simon and called it the hardest earned and most deserved medal yet.

that finish was AWESOME!!!  I couldn't believe he caught up again - and when he went for it I was screaming for him!  I wish he had enough left in the tank to hold on to that gold place that he had ever so briefly!

I think we have to also tip our hat to Colin Jenkins... obviously sacrificed himself for Whitfield, coming in 50th. As for Tichelaar, who decided to run his own race, seems a little bit selfish to me, especially since the difference between gold and silver was only 6 seconds.

That was so freakin' amazing!! What a race. I was super surprised by the kick at the end when Whitfield threw down his hat and started to kick it I almost sprained an ankle jumping up to scream at the TV!! What a race. Whitfield did amazing! That was my single best highlight of the Olympics!! Our entire office just watched it again!! Unreal...way to go Simon!!

Truly amazing finish - been watching replays on www.CBC.ca/olympics/  I watched in live on the website and was jumping up and down, all my muscles super tense with the suspense - wicked finishing sprint!!....as for the drafting on the bike - all the guys doing the Olympic distance are so very close in overall ability - I like the fact they need to play some wise tactics on the bike to ensure they stay near the front - adds a new dimension to the sport - and makes for far better viewing therefore more likely greater exposure of the sport of triathlon.
