There are lots of books about IM out there.  What, in your opinion, is the best Ironman book, specifically related to training and preparation (rather than history).  Thanks!

"Ironman Start to Finish". It's a 24 week program and it gives you workouts each day. It cost around $9 at Amazon.

Don Fink 'Iron Fit'. Far and away the best IM book. Read them all included 'Going Long' and nothing compares IMO

Gazillions of tri and IM books out there, and I've read most of them ...

Don Fink's Be Iron Fit and Gordo Byrn and Joe Friel's Going Long are absolutely at the top of the list. I am hard pressed to say which is better, although I'd probably say Going Long ... it's much more detailed, more science-based, and has excellent advice on nutrition (both general and race-day) which Iron Fit nearly entirely lacks.

However, if what you're looking for is specific training plans, time management advice, and accessibility/simplicity--and perhaps if you're a first-time IMer--Iron Fit rules.

I'm not ready to endorse it as "the best" yet, but I have been reading the above book (I paid $19 bucks for the PDF and printed it) and am enjoying being challenged by their "unconventional" approach.  Boy they could have used a good editor/proofreader, however!!!!

I'm currently reading "Going Long" and it is great. Haven't read IronFit but I'll put that on the short list of books for the off-season!
