Hello to my fellow Canadians. I am extremely excited and fortunate to join the ranks of participants for the 2009 IMC. Now from my user name you may have noticed that I live in Texas, thus I'm having a hard time finding lodging in Penticton. Its unreal how fast the event sold out - and even more so how fast lodging sold out.

Im looking for a house to rent in the area for about 6 people. If you know of any websites that could point me in the right direction would be WONDERFUL. Thanks in advance!

Post on www.slowtwitch.com

Lots of those people registered for IMC, so you'll probably get some bites.

And congrats on getting the spot.

We were in Penticton from the Aug 29-Sept 2  and we were looking around to enquire about stays for next years IMC (I am not registered...but thought it would be fun to watch - or volunteer)...and we found MOST places were already completely booked.  (It is especially hard for us because we are a large family - we used 3 rooms on this most recent stay!).

I do recall that one place - I think it was called Shoreline?????  it was on the West side of OK lake towards Salty's  - anyway they said at that time they had two studios still available????

good luck - it surprised me how quickly it all books up too!

well - duh...I obviously didn't read your whole post - 2 studios aren't exactly going to cut it is it???? lol.

Shoreline does have a 3 br suite - which we were enquiring about - but it is already booked.

I still have no Idea what I am doing. I can't get straight answers from my family or my inlaws...its driving me mad. ( I may just rent a RV and drive there and stay in it with the kids and wife in tow.)

My wife asked if we could do that - although an RV from Dallas to Penticton would cost about $1k in gas alone. She just wants to bring the dogs - although the way lodging outlook is coming along this might be our only option.

I also agree that having to confirm family / friends one year in advance is not an easy task. Im sure i'll book a 3-4 bedroom house and my wife and I will be the only ones who make it up there! Oh well - more room for the after party!

If it takes a whole house for you and your wife to party in, count me in! My wife, dog and I are staying in a little motel. Cheap, 20 minute walk to the start and cheap. Very nice people to, never raised a concern when my wife smashed my bike into the motel. lol...not.

I work for an RV dealership here and we have a sister company that rents motorhomes and trailers. If you flew to Abbotsford BC they would pick you up from the airport. I could get you a killer deal to.

Here is there website. http://www.fourseasonsrvrentals.ca

Letme know if you want me to check what kind of deal I can get.
