Subject: RE: In other news, sales of Cheetos rose 200% in Connecticutvonschnapps - 2011-06-08 1:34 PM When I read about mass drug slayings in Mexico, immigrants being forced to be 'drug mules' for the pot smuggling cartels, police officers, children, and whoever being gunned downed, political corruption, and the destruction that surrounds the whole mess....yeah, who's it going to hurt. Are you implying that decriminalization of possessing small amounts of marijuana will create more problems? I'd argue that the #'s of people killed over it will stay the same. The big difference will be in taxpayers not having to foot the bill for the costly legal process of trying these ridiculous cases and then paying for these peoples' imprisonment. Once the government gets smart and legalizes it (btw, legalizing something doesn't mean you are promoting it...take cancer sticks aka cigarettes for example), the price of marijuana would plummet. The government could grow it, sell it AND tax it. Win win. And guess what? When the price drops, there is no incentive for drug mules to carry marijuana. That was easy!...you can keep the pot, pass me the Cheetos. |
