Subject: RE: first tri this weekendThanks for the words of encouragement. I did it! I was feeling under the weather, up much of the night with a very dry cough, and had (uh ) female issues which made race day less pleasant then it could have been. But I did it. Transitions were painfully slow and I used them for a little recovery between events and bathroom breaks. Biking was far less than my normal capacity. My breathing was pretty shallow because of my cold and I had to use my asthma inhaler a couple of times on the bike and run. I felt pretty good throughout the tri considering the cold because I was taking it really easy. I was just pleased that I finished 345/390. http://www.lmsports.com/osprey05.htm
I did the event with a friend and he feels I sorely underhydrated and did not take in enough calories. Something to consider for my next event.
