Taper madness here. Was going to swim an easy 1000m and somehow ended up swimming the race distance at race pace....1800m @ 1:40 pace (?) or maybe I seriously can't count!  Must have been off by a fifty as it felt quite relaxed. Just started swimming and didn't want to stop. Hope I didn't leave the race in the pool. Oh well--last year the day before my HIM I unintentionally swim the entire course, and things turned out OK.

Crazy amount of stress at work this week so just trying to stay healthy and not climb the walls! Really looking forward to weekend at posh beach resort, even if major $$$ and a 4-hour race are involved!

Looking forward to today and hoping that soon being in the pool won't feel like I'm trying to swim through glue.

30min bike at 100+rpm

2500 swim workout

Leaving for the gym in about 30 mins or so...

5.0 mile run a little slower than I wanted. I guess that is due to yesterdays hilly bike ride.

Happy training

Weird, I know I posted here earlier but it's not showing?

0500 I went to the pool to swim 2300 yds, got to 150.  The pool water level was so low due to maintenance on some stairs that I was literally touching the bottom very early into the shallow end and before ever reaching the wall was having to pull up so much on my arms I couldn't swim.  A flip turn would have been dangerous for someone 5' tall let alone me at 6'3.  Hoping to hit the pool on base at 1030 in combination with my lunch break.

About an hour of trainer time on tap for after work.

Have a great day.

Flip turns?  What are those?

Anyway...  4.25 mile misty run with my wife this morning.  Trying to help pace her HM runs (she tends to like going FAST).  Surprised

Going to the pool tonight.  I think I'm going to do a skills/drills workout, as last time in the pool I was monkeying around with it and found that, for the first time, I could start to feel the subtle differences in rotation timing/catch/kick timing/etc. doing 200's.  So, a couple thousand yards of trying NOT to swim like a kid that grew up in the ocean getting from point A-B without gulping water but faster than your friends (rather than in a pool learning how to swim) is probably a good idea!

Knock it out of the park today BT!

Matt

15-minute core class and a nice 5-mile run along the river. Weather has been awesome here in north Florida lately.

Did the techs give any indication?  I hope it turns up as something minor.

No they would not tell me anything have to wait till I get back in to see Sports Doc hopefully next week some time, get back started with more Phisio tomorow, I do have a consultation set up with the surgeon, not that I want to go that route if it isn't absolutely necessary.

Still waiting for it to warm up around here, high of 40 in the area here so I still can't get outside with the bike (well I could but I'm a weenie, what can I say?).

AM: 5000m threshold swim set

PM: 90 minute bike on the trainer with some high cadence spins.
