I bought a new (to me) bike two days ago.  '95 Cannondale R700 with tri geometry.  Here's some pics.  I haven't finished adjusting the fit, so any and all comments are welcome.

650 wheels?  I don't think so, but they sure look small on the frame size.

The frame actually looks a little tall for you based on the amount of seatpost you have above the frame.  Your front to back proportions looks good, but I would say if it is at all possible I'd like to see your front end lower, especially based on the second pic.

Yep, 650 wheels.  It also had 56/44 chain rings (I've swapped those out with my road bike which I'll be selling soon) and GripShifters.

The front end is as low as it goes, so I guess I need a different angle on the stem.  The frame is a 56 which is a compromise.  I have short legs (31" ) for my height (6')  Considering that it only cost $200, I'll make it work.

Since it is a '95 then it more than likely a quill stem.  Maybe convert to threadless with a new (used) fork and stem and you can get lower if you wanted to ......

Being as it's a 56cm frame, my extra 650 forks wouldn't have enough steerer for you... Else I'd offer you one of mine to help facilitate the switch to a threadless system.

But... The frame size does look big, both because of the amount of post showing (with leg extension that looks to be on the fringe of the "acceptable" range) and the fact that you've maxed out the front end. In order to make it work, you'll need a negative-rise stem.

Also work on pelvic tilt, maybe scooting up on the saddle nose a bit (maybe move the saddle BACK to accomodate?), and "turtling" your head more.

Other than that, if it's comfy, it's not too far out there.

x2 - this is the first thing I thought when I looked at the image.

By "working on your pelvic tilt", do you mean rotate this clockwise?  To make my entire back flatter?

Actually, looks pretty good to me.  You're not looking for a flat back, but a flat CHEST!  You've got that, good hip angle, good extension on the legs, arm angle looks good.  Yeah, 650's are small, but based on the photos, you look to me to have it dialed in pretty good.  If it's comfprtable and you can maintain it over the race distance, I wouldn't monkey with it.

Revisit:

Then and now.  Black shirt is then, white shirt is now.  I've scooted the seat back 5mm, raised the seat 7mm and swapped out the arm pads & aerobars to something more comfortable.

Spine position is much improved. Head is still sticking up quite a ways, but that can be trained... Chin down and forward.
