Just wondering what everyone's plans were for the remaining big weekend this weekend and then the scale down over the next two weeks and race week?

My main focus beyond anything else the remainder o this week is to get a 100 mile bike in this weekend as my last long bike. My last two rides (67 and 90 milers) I have struggled a bit and I'm not sure if this is due to just riding on dead a$$ legs and being exhausted from this point in the training or if I could be in trouble on the bike! My guess is A and that I'll be fine. We'll see.

Good luck everyone on the final big weekend......

Big weekends are over for me, I've had plenty.  Might go 100 this weekend, but I doubt it.  Midweek will stay pretty much the same, just dropping volume and adding intensity

11/1
Sat Ride 80 with hills, brick 3
Sun Swim 2.5, Run 10

11/8
Sat Ride 60 flat, brick 2
Sun swim 2, Run 6

11/15
Sat Ride 40 flat
Sun Swim 1, run 5

I'll do another Big Training Day on Sat the 1st, 1 Hour Swim, 85mi Bike, 1-2 Hour Run/Walk.
Then either a 3rd Big Training Day the 8th, or split up a couple of medium-long Bricks, Swim-Bike the 8th & Bike-Run the 9th. Then really tapering off- the few rest of my rides are under 2 hours.
The 11th I'll finalize everything I'm taking and get it bought (more Chamois Butt'r etc.) and loosely placed/packed.

I am thinking an 80 - 100 this weekend with 30 minute brick, last long run next Wednesday (18miler). Next weekend will be 60 ridden relatively hard with 45 minute run. Last weekend a 50 miler with 60 minute run at goal pace. During the week will be the usual do what I can when I can with some more swimming as taper goes until last week. Runs will be slightly shorter with more focused pacing as will shorter bikes or trainer. I will run at least 20 minutes after every bike from here on in.

Cheers!

This weekends plan starts today....

Thurs   50bike/6run  Brick

Fri        90 min swim  (cause I am slow)

Sat       100 bike / 3 mile run  Brick

Sun     Either 2 hour bike or 12 mile run; haven't decided

Next week is a 11 hour week - I have to travel 3 days, but the two key workouts are a Tuesday Brick - 30 bike/ 4 Run and a Saturday Brick 60 Bike/ 5 Run - with 3 swims as filler.    These bricks are at harder that IM pace.

The big key is for me not to gain weight.  My training has been steady, but my diet sucks...I have lost about 10 lbs but it is because of burning calories not healthy eating.

Current week.  3 hr run  (DONE)!  3 hr bike

Next week:  3 hr ride  2 hour run

Following week.  2 hour ride and 1 hour run.

(Those are the bigger workouts of the week.  I have more smaller days and 2-3 days of swimming in each week as well).

Happy to get in  almost 18 miles this  morning.  I had a late start day at work and got my butt out of bed and out running. Taper is within sight!

Train safely

I don't know.  My coach only publishes the schedule a week at a time.

But this weekend I have a 6:45 brick...a bike/run/bike/run kinda brick.  Mmmmm...fun.

I am in Tempe right now playing around on the course.  Fun times!

This weekend:

Then TAPER!!!
Only 8500m swimming during the week and a 60 mile bike.

Don't know what happens after that

This weekend I have a century ride on Saturday, and a half marathon+ on Sunday.  Not sure how many miles I will add onto the half marathon.  How often do you feel like adding on 2-5 miles on after a race? :-)

The rest of the weekends I will listen to my body, but keeping the general idea of cutting back 50% each week.  I have a foot injury I have to pay attention to as well, so may cut back on running more than the others.  Can't I do one IM without being injured???

I really really really wish I could find a century ride within a 100 miles of here. It sure would make the last 100 miler go by so much easier by doing it with a large group. No such luck though as far as anything I can locate out there.

Yeah they are tough to come by right now. I am driving 5.5 hours for this one. Well, you're welcome to come to Durham, NC! :-) We need more people.

Here is what I got planned. I'm more concerned about the cycling leg. I am no where close to race pace that I want to be at. I was off the bike due to shoulder surgery and didn't really get back on the bike until August/Sept. Swim is coming along although I'm feeling it due to increased volume.

Week 10/26: (What's left)
Fri. 1 Hr. 20 Min Swim
Sat. 5 Hr. Bike; 45 Min Run
Sun. 3 Hr. 30 Min Bike (Might be on trainer due to rain)

Week 11/3:
Mon. 1 Hr Swim
Tues. 1 Hr 30 Min Bike; 30 Min Run
Wed. 1 Hr Swim; 1 Hr 10 Min Run
Thurs. 2 Hr 30 Min Run
Fri . 1 Hr Swim
Sat. 5 Hr 30 Min Bike; 45 Min Run
Sun. 4 Hr Bike

Week 11/9
Mon. Rest Day
Tues. 1 Hr Bike
Wed. 1 Hr Swim; 45 Min Run
Thurs. 1 Hr 30 Min Run
Fri. 1 Hr Swim
Sat. 2 Hr 30 Min Bike 30 Min Run
Sun. Rest Day

Week 11/17 (Race Week)
Mon. 1 Hr Swim
Tues. 1 Hr Bike;
Weds. 1 Hr Swim; 30 Min Run
Thurs. Travel
Fri. 30 Min Swim
Sat. 10 Min Run
Sun. IMAZ ..... Woooo Hoooo!

That's the only one in the south that I found this weekend. Thought about it, but the wife would shoot me. No, literally at this point in the training and traveling category!
