OK, so I know some of you will hate me for this...

I have never heard of 24 prior to this past January, then all of a sudden I started hearing about it from everyone. My friends parents forced themselves to watch it because the season was loaned to them by a son - in-law. My mother loves it. Another friend just bought a new HDTV and has 24 parties every Monday (?right, monday?) night.

So...I was flipping through TV, checking out the network broadcasts and saw this dark show with the constantly moving camera angle strategy and lost interest within about 30 seconds and changed it. Later I realized it was 24.

What? I said to myself. THat was it? But it looked so crappy. So I flipped back to it. I just could not get interested in watching it because of the way it looked on tv, the way it was filmed. It was so dark. I don't want to concentrate that hard while watchign tv. I want to watch things like Sponge Bob and While you were out.

Sorry for the blasphemy, but I just wondered if anyone else has a similar experience!

Are you sure it was 24?

Its not a show you can just flip to and start watching. Its not funny. If you start in the middle of a season you need to at least catch the 'last time on 24' recap at the beginning of the episdoe.

Don't worry, there's still hope for you. If not, Jack Bauer will kill you.

Hi, my name is Rob and.... about 50% of the time I can't make it through a whole 24 episode. I even watched the first episode this season.

I've tried and tried! The problem is, they lose me at the first eyerolling moment. Like the people at CTU headquarters. Are you, like, all 15 year olds is 25 - 30 year old bodies?

Okay, maybe I've gone too far....

Hey, it's not for everyone.  The description you gave isn't what the whole show is like, but there are episodes that are like that.

For example, it was bright and sunny when Jack shot down the helicopter killing the bad guys inside, but it was dark and shadowy when Jack shot the terrorist in CTU this week.  He can shoot in multiple lighting situations, like a good camera.

Thank you, thank you very much.

OK, well here's a confession that may help put things in perspective. When I was in 2nd grade, kids started coming to school with Star Wars collectors cards. And they knew the names of all the ships and commanders and types of fighters and all kinds of crap. I was like, what? Did you watch the same movie that I did? How do you know all that stuff? "I watched the movie" was their response. Huh? MOvies have plots???

And so, as a 7 year old, I began my life anew.

Don't feel bad Adventure Bear.  I've never watched 24, nor do I have a desire to watch it.  I did see it when I was flipping through and it didn't really spark my attention, so I kept on going.

I am a recovering 24 addict. I pulled myself out of the excitement and realized that there are too many controversies that happen all at once for it to be realistic enough for me to enjoy it anymore. That's just me. Although I do have to admit that it's great watching Kiefer Sutherland kill the whole world with nothing. He's a modern McGuyver with a bigger show budget!

Ok, anybody who would rather watch sponge bob square pants rather that 24 has some issues, no offense.  I could see if you watched, say golf, because that is much better than sponge bob, or how bout watching paint dry.

Well, after workign a night shift in the ER, intubating a lady who wasn't breathing, transferring a kid to the children's hospital for emergency surgery, a lacerated artery after some guy slipped in the woods and cut his leg on a broken glass bottle....A few episodes of sponge bob will really hit the spot!

Especially after I go pick up my chocolate milkshake from the cafeteria.

I like spongebob, and it that circumstance, yeah, I can see why you would choose him over Jack Bauer. But I still would have tivo-ed 24.

1) I got home and decided to turn on FOX news (never watch it) because I've been cloistered from the world...and it just made me depressed. Middle east crises. Jeez, it's beengoing on for as long as I can remember, "the crisis in the middle east". Get on with the rest of the world news already...I should have put on sponge bob.

2) In all seriousness....who is Jack Bauer? No for real, I'm serious I have no clue who he is. Is he a character in 24?

I have to agree I've also enjoyed a sponge bob episode or two. However I haven't watched an episode since I gave up my daily habit of smoking ganja. I'm sure I would be greatly disappointed with how funny it really is compared to how funny i thought it was.
