. Smile? JUST a smile?? When he jumped out and danced, and then started to pull out the ring and got down on his knee, that was bringing a tear to my eye! That was great! What a cool guy and an unforgettable thing to do!!

Wow!

I guess I would be the exact and total opposite, cheap, lame and uncreative...  72 hours after we met, sitting on a beach in the Bahamas watching the sun set together, "I already know how much I love you and there's no point in waiting.  Will you marry me?"  I didn't even have a ring...  Or a job...  Or money...

And she said yes.  Go figure!  Tongue out

That was 22 years ago.

Even less romantic here. To my credit, we had talked about it for some time, and knew we were headed that way. One day I walked her to her car and told her, "OK, let's go talk to your priest." Also had no ring, money, or job (in grad school).

We were married within 60 days, 24 years ago this month.

For some reason I love flash mobs and often wonder how they're put together. I'm picking up that this guy was a dancer and his cohorts were from the same dance studio. Personally I couldn't find two friends that could dance that well.

Awesome, but I still like how I did it too...

In the middle of San Marco Piazza in Venice Italy.....  What a special place...

The flash mob thing is impressive, I couldn't imagine trying to put something like that together...I could hardly get out the will you marry me part without making a complete fool out of myself...No way I could have pulled something like that off!

I don't think I did too bad though, took her to the Inn at Palmetto Bluff for the weekend, stayed in a cottage on the river, hired people to block off one of the amazing bridges they have over the lagoon and a secret wedding photographer to capture the moment and do an engagement photo shoot after I popped the question. Not as flashy as a flash mob but I still put a lot of time and effort planning everything out and putting personal touches of things just between us into the proposal. She liked it anyway!

Love those videos.  They even make me tear up.

Mine was pretty lame.  My wife and I were best friends since we were 14 years old and always hung out.  We dated different people and whatnot.  She came out to California for her spring break her senior year in High School to visit me (I graduated a year earlier) and absolutely loved it.  When she flew back to Iowa she was bummed and really wanted to come back.  I told her if we got married the military would pay for housing and she could come live with me in California.  So a few days later she flew back out, we drove to Tahoe and 20 years later we're still best friends.

They brought a tear to my eyes too, Tony.  (unless I can blame it on a sudden attack of allergies which I've never had before?)

I met my hubby online and now I'm using him to get a Green Card.
