Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: Saunier Duval Team Thread Hi Saunier Duval, Welcome to the Tour De France Bike Challenge 2008.
This team has already had a successful year with young rider Riccardo Ricco placing second overall in the Giro D’Italia. This big talking young guy has surprised everyone by being named in his teams line up to back up and try again for Grand Tour success this year. Expect him to put on a good showing in the roads of France this year.
On BT, your team line up for the challenge is: 1. buffalo2090 2. chrisrunzs26 3. dalessit 4. dcon 5. faeron 6. Jungle_Jenn 7. mmakaryk 8. tnickerson Now you have found the team thread, introduce yourself to your team mates below with some information which could include name, goals or info on your current bike(s). Reporting for the challenge over the next three weeks will take place in three blocks matching the Tour De France racing days. The dates are as follows: Week 1: 5th – 14th July Week 2: 15th – 21 July Week 3: 22 – 27 July Your team has a tracking spreadsheet set up and active in google spreadsheet. To open the spreadsheet click on this link: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pfYL7DR_dx-D3_t7ujlLYcA&... /> To login to Google Docs: Username: btchallenge Password: challengeforum You can update the spreadsheet at any time to track your own, and your teams progress. I will be grabbing each teams results to date and posting a challenge update that includes all of the teams progress and any interesting tid bits from the various team threads. This update will be posted at the end of the each reporting week listed above. The winning team will be determined by the team with the highest percentage of goal achieved. No one can go over 100% of goal and if more than one team hits 100% then there is more than one winning team! To remind everyone to post their updates, and I recommend that you nominate a team leader to help with reminding everyone to report in each week. But the job of inspiring and motivating your team mate really does rest with each individual so don’t forget to give everyone some regular encouragement here in the team thread and through inspires on training logs. I will try to pop in regularly to see how your team is getting on. If there are any questions throughout the course of the challenge let me know, I will pop back in the next 24 hours with some additional information and rider profiles for your Tour De France team before the action kicks off on the roads of France. Master 1841 Sendai, Japan | Subject: RE: Saunier Duval Team Thread Hi everyone. My name is Dan and I live in Sendai, Japan. My goal for the Tour is 15 stages and 15 hours of riding. I did a little over 15 hours last month so as long as my knees hold out, I should be able to make it. I haven't really invested in a good bike yet. I'm currently riding a cross bike that has only 6 gears.
I took a quick shot at putting together an HTML page for the team. Feel free to re-use and edit as you like.

Expert 935 South eastern Ohio | Subject: RE: Saunier Duval Team Thread Good morning and Happy 4th of July to those that celebrate it My name is Chris. I am a Mom/Grandmom and Triathlete. I live in OH, South of Columbus, and East of Cincinnati. I tend to stick to longer races...it suits my slowness. I have and OLy distance and 2, 1/2 Irons coming up so that means lots of time on my bike. I look forward to helping the team win this challenge and I know you all will just kick butt. Well that is it from me. Looking foreward to it. Have a great 4th !! Chris |

Master 1397 Granvile, Ohio | Subject: RE: Saunier Duval Team Thread Hey everyone. I'm Tam, live in Central Ohio. I've never been real strong on the bike, but I'm working to change that this year. I've ridden more in May and June this year than all of last year combined. Pretty cool. I've got a hefty goal of 12 stages and 250 miles for this month. Hope all of you can help me stay on track to get those miles in. I love' Jenn's attitude of going out and getting the miles in without killing herself. That's my goal. To go out and ride my bike and become a strong rider because its something I love to do. Good luck everyone! |

Regular 87 | Subject: RE: Saunier Duval Team Thread Hello Team! My name is Faeron and I live in Los Angeles. My goal is 9 stages 540 minutes, just finished my first stage today for 144 minutes so I'm on my way! I'm riding a 20 year old Dave Scott centurion, it's old but it gets me around . I have a vacation coming up in the middle of the tour but I'm looking into renting a bike there and getting some rides in, if not I'll make it up when I get back . I'm on a bike focused plan so I'm excited to get some extra bike time in, it's definitely something I'd like to improve. Happy riding to everyone over the next 23 days! |

Master 1841 Sendai, Japan | Subject: RE: Saunier Duval Team Thread Greetings from Saint Breiuc amigos (Saunier Duval is a Spanish team). I woke up about 5:30 this morning. There were 5 empty wine bottles on the table. Unfortunately, the waiter was still there waiting to settle the tab. I'm guessing it was Chris and Tony who polished off 3.5 bottles after I fell asleep. Anyway, after paying the bill I got on my bike and headed off to Saint Breiuc. Stage 2 complete. I think I'll call it an early night tonight and stay away from the wine (wishful thinking). Good luck to today's racers (TdF and elsewhere....look forward to hearing about your results). Tony: spreadsheet updates -- go for it.

I mean, really all it means is that you update the spreadsheet and motivate people. You said you don't mind the spreadsheet and you're already motivating people. Do I have a second to the motion? |

Do I get a tiara, or at least a sash? How'd the Tri go? I don't mind updating just make sure people post here when they ride, I can go to the logs and grab the info. We have one person that doesn't have a goal listed, I think it is mmakaryk, so we need a stage and time/distance total. |

Member 25 Buffalo, NY | Subject: RE: Saunier Duval Team Thread I'm Michael from Buffalo, New York and I'm sorry for missing the fun until today but a holiday camping trip got in the way. After completing my first sprint triathlon in over 20 years last week I was anxious to get back at it. What a fun way to jumpstart some training. My goal is 10 stages for 450 minutes. I hit the road this afternoon for 53 minutes and 14 miles. Short and sweet but after 3 days of camping you know how it is. I'm riding a Trek Equinox 5.5 that I got about 3 months ago Go Team Saunier Duval ! Edited by buffalo2090 2008-07-06 7:14 PM |
