We added two members to our family over the weekend.  This is Sadie (on the left) and Sammy (on the right).  They are 12 weeks old and full of puppy energy.  I'm hoping they make good running partners when they get older.

lkct01234 - 2013-02-18 8:45 AM AWWW!! What breed(s)?

We're not sure of the breed(s).  The mother was brought to the shelter while pregnant, and has already been adopted.  They thought that she was a collie mix and had no idea what breed the father might be.  The shelter sent us pictures of the mama later, and she looks exactly like our dear departed Barkley, who we lost in December.  When we saw the mama's pictures, we felt like having two from her litter was meant to be.  So we have no idea what they will look like when grown or how big or small they might be, but we will love them just the same.

My dogs are Sadie and Sammy as well :-) (Well, Sampson, technically...but he's never been much of a Sampson :D)

Very cute!

Enjoy the next 6 months. Hope you are not fond of shoes.

My Sammy is a girl. Samantha. We got her from a rescue. She had a brother, but we were not looking for two. Turns out she is the best in the world and we wished we got her brother.... but then we would have never got Jake... which as it turns actually IS THE best dog in the world!

Yay indeed! Stop the CUUUUUUTE, I'm dying here!

Dog sibs can sometimes have serious aggression issues toward each other (much like human sibs!), although it's somewhat mitigated by a male/female combo. Just make suuuuure they're really well trained and socialized ... start now! The prime puppy socialization window closes around 14 weeks.

Don't let the title fool you--these are the best free (some of the best free or paid!) resources on puppy info, by the vet who created modern pet dog training as we know it.

Thanks, Yanti!  I will take a look at the link.  We are socializing them and will be doing a puppy training class with them as well.  I think they will be great together - when we were observing them with their litter mates and some other pups, they always stuck together.  I think that the little boy is really dependent on his big sister.
