That is the ONLY way to do Ironman in my opinion.  If you aren't having fun, why do it at all?  When I did IMCDA last year, I came in at 16:32:55.  Some would say it was not a stellar performance.  I say it was one of the most satisfying days of my life.

I am sure "Ken" will get to read Welshy's RR once available and I hope he'll have the decency to at least congratulate him on his performance but cowardice will have the best of him.

On this note, Welshy... you're almost (Kenny boy excluded) every BT'ers hero and congrats on a job well done! You kicked butts big time!

Ken is a guy who silently stalked Welshy's training logs and then sent Welshy a note on his non-BT blog a week or two ago basically saying "You suck; you ought to drop out of Ironman." (I'm paraphrasing).

 There was a thread about it here last week.  Welshy, being much more decent than I am, did not divulge Ken's BT name, but suffice it to say, we all think Ken is a tool.

Welshy, this post shows much more grace and class than I, the Skyster, am feeling towards Ken at the moment (as I envision several possible "Ken's DNF" scenarios.)  Thank you Thomas M. Ironman Wahoo Welsh for calling me to a higher level.

Starting another thread to "Ken" is something, well, that "Ken" would do. Focusing on the success of BT IM'ers is a much more noble endeavor - especially if "Ken" was Bib #1816.

Congrats to Welshy and all the other BT IM peeps (finisher or not)! 

Good thing Ken wasn't bib #1816.  As far as I know, Ken didn't even toe the line at IMAZ...but Welshy did.

I have always been one to encourage other BTers, and will continue to do so.  I also felt it appropriate to congratulate Welshy with this thread as a response to the thread last week.  If you don't like this thread, you certainly don't need to read it or comment about it.

And no, Ken wouldn't have the guts to do publicly what he did to Welshy in such a cowardly manner, so I disagree that starting a thread like this is "whaty Ken would do."

I meant no disrespect to anyone by starting the thread, nor was I trying to stir the pot.  In fact, I thought it was nice closure to this issue.  Welshy succeeded despite Ken telling him to quit.   To me, that deserved a mention.  I won't bring it up again, and I apologize if this thread ruffled anyone's feathers.
