OK, so while I am taking my Survivor break and am quickly losing interest in Biggest Loser, I will never tire of Amazing Race.  Well, maybe once I go on and win the million

No favs yet.  Like the doctors, the hockey players and the youtube couple.  Don't like the newlyweds.  Alabama will be fun to watch.

Let the games begin!

Seriously, 3 teams taking the penalty in the first challenge because they don't want to dig in the sand anymore.  How stupid.

Let the whiner newlyweds and the girls take the penalty.  That would give the fire fighters 4 hours to keep digging and find the clue.  Don't these people watch this show?

Ugh.  I had a bad feeling after last season (which I still believe was the best Race season EVER!) there'd be a fall off...but this is pretty bad.  Reality shows usually do a good job of giving you folks to root for or against...I hope the producers know what they're doing because so far, with the exception of the father-son duo that beat cancer, the hockey players, and the docs (even though they seem a bit lazy), I'm not seeing too much that's likeable.

Too bad for the fire fighters.. I think they looked at the competition and thought it would be cake to beat them at the next task. Better luck next time.  Looks like the Cancer survivors are out next week, with the Dad getting an Achilles injury.  Hopefully it isn't that bad and he pulls through it.  I think the country blonds are a good choice.. go figure... The newlyweds might prove interesting to watch.

Looking forward to a new season.

if I were the firefighters, after falling off a few times, I would have gone back to the challenge and tried to complete it. or, maybe they can't if they say they are quitting? Why would that guy marry someone who is known to hate everyone and everyone hates her? That kind of negativity will wear on the new marriage. Maybe she'll grow up and get over that.

After watching it I wasn't really pulling for anyone or against anyone, they all seemed kinda meh. Maybe it is just the first episode and it will get better, but I thought it was boring.

I really wanted to pull for the twin doctors, but what a bunch of whiners! And the 2nd express pack being given away might make for some drama!

I'm pretty sure if one stayed they would have all stayed. If one turned back, they would have all turned back. It only worked if they all did it... then it is just a sprint.

Didn't see the fire fighters getting booted. Ya, not much to like so far. Even first place winners act all cool, but then go all skeevy. Yes, you have to play a smart game... but 4 teams off at the start of the race is not smart either. You have your pass... play smart, get good will. Duh.

And I'm sorry... rotund woman complaining how much work she is doing sitting on her butt... wow.

Good to see Alabama representing well.....  "Business in the front, party in the back" had to be the quote of the night.

Fitting that the wife was an Auburn Fan, she was a bit whiny and needed to suck it up and get off her bum digging in the sand.

I lost interest for a couple of seasons, but figured I would watch the first episode this year.  Maybe I'll keep up watching this year, but not a great start.

My wife & I have watched this show since day 1. But, I'm a little biased this season. My wife's bff, since junior high, is on the show. She's one of the roller derby moms. I was stoked to watch them go from last to 5th last night!! Can't wait to see how this season plays out.

There is an actual spoiler website out there. I think that ruins the fun though

Okay, not much to say on this week...but for next week...

Hasn't anyone ever told Connor's dad that if you can still walk you probably didn't rupture your achilles?

So far I don't like the Newlyweds or the asian girls the just seem nasty to me so far.  The first place finishers are trying to play the game nasty very early and that can hurt you.  Keep your word and play nasty at the end when it counts.  We've seen in this game other teams can collude to work together to put you out of the game... ask the cowboys from OK a few seasons ago.

The country singers are quite lovely.  Team Alabama Honey Boo Boo mama is annoying with her vodka and 7-up but the guy is surprisingly upbeat and likeable.  Kudos for him keeping the hair.  Pulling for the father and son... they just seem the most likable. The hockey players seem cool as well.

My TiVO cutoff so I missed the previews for next week.

The only thing annoying about the father and son is that the father can't keep up and is constantly heard on camera yelling something like, "Get in there Connor!"  Like he's trying to get his son to get their place in line while he catches up....

Okay, it is worth saying again with an addition.

You should not go on the Amazing Race unless you can:

1. Drive a stick.

2. SWIM.

*sigh*

I kinda liked the twins...it stinks for them that these first two legs both had swimming stuff.  Though I don't understand why they didn't switch to the other detour earlier...maybe it wasn't well described and they thought it was swimming too?  I wonder if they had taken the 6 hour penalty at the get go if they would have survived....

Oh, and now I want to go to Bora Bora...

SPOILER below re:  2/24/13 episode.

You are so right.  Seriously, the thing that gets me is that even if you suck at those 2 things, there are things you can do prior to even signing up for the race that would prepare you for the challenge.

Plus, another thing that stuck in my craw about the twins...why didn't they observe how other teams performed the task?  One clam at a time?  How could they not see other teams bringing up strings of them all at once?

Is there some new rule about posting spoilers I don't know about?  We put spoilers in the thread title so I assumed all who came in here understood there could be spoilers...why is everyone prefacing their post with "spoilers".....

The newlyweds are still nasty and the surfers are still nasty.  You don't play the game like that this early in the game.  Some neat challenges on this episode.  Not really sad to see any teams go yet since it's so early it's hard to really pick favorites.  According to the previews for next week the dad really did something serious to his achilles.  That sucks for them.  Hopefully he can push through it.  They seem to be a solid team.

Really? Trying to keep the "alliance" secret so the other teams will suck up to them?

I agree with learning to swim and drive a standard BEFORE you go on the show.

We were cracking up the way the redneck hauled his wife on to the boat like she was a dead fish or something.

Yes!

When they were running I think Chuck was a bit harsh with Wynonna.  Yeah, I think you need to be fit to do the AR, but if you're not (or your partner's not) there's no sense in complaining about it now.  He knew what he was getting into, I hope.  Maybe this will inspire her to be more active.

Hard to get excited at this point. The doctors are ridiculous. That's fine if you do not want to swim... just don't enter a show where you know you will and then NOT learn how to swim.

The newlyweds are just cartoons. Ridiculous.

Alabama's wife is annoying. Way to much complaining. I mean she did know she was going around the world right?

Some good teams... the location has been spectacular for the first two episodes. Sky diving in Bora Bora... are you kidding me!!!

Last night was kinda uneventful.  It looks like the father/son team is hanging in there.  I wonder how much longer they will be able to keep racing.  I know they are not popular, but I like the newlyweds.  They seem to do their own thing and run the race.
