I'm trying to remember the intersection there.  Is there a gas station/convenience store there?

And on a different note, did I spell convenience correctly?

There is nothing at the instersection that I am aware of other than street vendors selling dogs, sheets, etc.  I bet if you head west down 380 though there has to be something pretty close.

Don't know about the dogs or the sheets but a little bit west is 2 subdivisions (Savanah and Paloma Creek) that have 'strip centers' outside. Somewhere, right in that area is a new Walgreens or CVS. Just a bit down from that (5-ish miles) is a conveinence store AND a liquor store.....

The intersection of 1385 and 380 is at a traffic light; about 1 mile passed the 380/423 intersection.  There is a development on the north west corner called Savanah.

Sometimes I drive to and park at the Savanah development on the east side of 1385 and ride from there.  I do this during the week to avoid the rush hour traffic in Frisco.

I'm trying to map out new routes and thinking of using that as the starting point.

Has anyone ridden 428 to Denton?  I know the traffic is not bad, but it's been forever since I've been that way (in a car) and I don't know the condition of the roads.

It's new chip seal.  I've ridden it and it's rough.  If you are chip seal averse, don't go that way.

Is this one of the smooth roads that we normally ride? (well when I come out there for the Frisco ride anyway) If so.. that really sucks.

How do you get back to 1385 then?  The shoulder of 380 I'm assuming.  Do you cross traffic or do you just ride on the North side for the 2 miles?

Yes, I ride on the shoulder with the traffic. It is nice and wide. You just have to be alert for all the debris. I usually do not have a problem crossing over 380.

I was up that way this afternoon and they have already started laying the chipseal at the intersection of 380 and 1385 int he Northbound lane. "Construction Next 12 Miles" signs are up too. Frown

The Walgreens is at the intersection of Paloma Creek and 380. If you didn't want to ride down 380 to 1385, you could go north on Navo road (the next road to the east of Paloma) about .75 miles to Fishtrap road then take that to 1385 as well.

I would not recommend riding on that section of Fishtrap. I did a recent run on it and it is more of a gravel road that paved road. Fishtrap is the road that they should be worried about and not 1385.

Yep, there are some bad sections of fishtrap for sure.  I would almost rather deal with the traffic on 423 than ride on that gravel.  It  scared the carp out of me.
