Ok its done i just finished my first sprint triathlon. It started off with me getting not an ounce of sleep... not a good idea! I arrived plenty early and set up my stuff and got marked which took all of 5 minutes. So i had plenty of time to check out the course. Im glad i walked to the water exit point straight to my stuff to make sure i knew the way. The 800m swim started off good. i waited a few seconds to make sure i had room to swim... then it went downhill as i couldnt swim straight to save my life! found myself at least 50 meters off course. My stroke felt pretty good. with waisting so much time by myself off course, i didnt need to worry about others knocking in to me. swim was 16:50ish. I came out of the water pretty dizzy (next time earlugs) and couldnt get my wetsuit off my left ankle where my time chip was, I think ill take the damn chip off first next time. T1 3:30 enough said! The bike started off pretty slow it felt like i had no energy so i took my Gu. 17.7mph ave. it was a fun course, nice to see all of your tri bikes zip past me... i liked it, made me feel cool!I saw my family and friends near the end, got excited and zoomed past them. I realized its a bad idea to try and give someone five when your on your bike... almost biffed it there on camera...bad idea! T2 was better 1:30. The 3 mile Run was also pretty slow. i couldnt ever get in my grove... i started cramping up pretty good which affected me most of the run. I was able to sprint with no problem at the end which made me feel like i didnt pace myself correctly.. i wish i wouldve gone harder... run was 24:40ish. Overall I was happy with everything. I started this thing in March not knowing how to swim, and not ever owning a bike, and hated running. Probably the funnest part for me was being able to overcome those challenges. cant wait for the next one! Thanks to trailrunner and everyone else here who helped me along the way!!!

Congrats triathlete!

Can I borrow your race report in its entirety for my first tri 2 weeks from now? Other than trying a rolling high 5 I could probably write your report verbatim

That was an awesome job, I really liked the way you said "not today pal" as that guy started to come up on you toward the end of the run.  You looked great!  Congratulations.
