Started this thread because of this article.  Man, that sucks so bad.  I take back any hope that he'll finish the tour and just hope he'll be able to walk again.  Unconscious for 3-4 minutes.

That was a serious crash and going 45-50 mph.  That's like jumping out of your car and doing a face-plant!

Now back to the next Stage after yesterday's amazing pick. Gloat.! Me?

CHR15 when you pick a Schleck, tell us which one please. I know you're trying to get away with choosing four riders but you ain't gonna get away with it.

BTW is this Mikel Astarloza's older brother?

Contador. Pellizotti. Wiggins.   Strongest 3 riders in the tour, they'll need it.  No way Astana lets a Schleck get away, as we saw today.

Honorable mention to Bride Feillu. Rule out Martinex and Tkxurra (sp) as they won't take KOM points from a teammate. Juan Manuel Garate could also figure...this is the kind of stage where he could disappear into the distance and no one would care.

While they both have a ktut.  I think the guy on the left wears the ktut better...

Chris' picks:
-Schleck
-Fellieu
-Sorensen

(total of 6)...

Here is a to some stills of the crash and post accident while he was being attended roadside.    He is a lucky guy due to the nature of the slide.  It could have been so much worse.    Heal quickly  and well Jens!

Rick, I had Txurruka pencilled in overnight then read your comment which immediately put some doubt in my mind. Hmmm! There again wouldn't he be taking points away from his teammates rival. And which teammate. Martinez has 101pts & Astarloza 86 pts. Oh these Basques are so hard to choose from. Txurruka came in 24mins down yesterday, was that due to him going to have a big effort today or is he knackered?

And I do like your thinking on Garate. I have him & Pineau on my short list.

Pellizotti just has to mark his rivals in my view. Sanchez & Nibali are on my list too. I need to go away & find a pin.

I dont really know who to pick today...

Contador - duh!

Lloyd - someone from Silence Lotto needs to salvage SOMETHING for this tour

Ballan - Good one dayer and the rainbow jersey as well as Lampre have been soooo quiet

Watching the stage away from home tonight... so probably wont be online

This could be one for a long escape gaining serious time. Or it could just be Saxobank keeping the tempo HIGH to see if they can break Bertie (not likely the way he was dancing on the pedals when Andy attacked yesterday)

WIGGO!!!!!

Chavanel (Time to give Quick Step something to cheer about)

Igor Anton Hernandez  (He's Spanish. He can climb. No GC or KOM hopes.)

I also fancied Van Den Broeck,  now that he doen't have to wait for Limpet anymore. Just think he might be too high in GC to be given enough slack. I dunno. Will be fun. That's all I know.

Ballan?? He's been one of the first passengers on the Autobus on most of the mountain stages. But I like your optimism

We'll miss you today. You're not watching it with Bike Boy are you?

Careful there Jens. You know she gets touchy when we mention boys to her. She much prefers us MEN. Either Limpet's lack of a team around him has got into her head with today's picks or she's thinking about tonight. Surprised she didn't go for my new mate Kenny Van Hummel.  BTW I got rid of the  lanterne rogue yesterday. Artemis has it now. I'm even in front of you. What's wrong? Three weeks to much for you. I'm just getting my 'legs'. Yellow Jersey here I come.

Read 'em & weep at the end of today's Stage ~

1/ Txurruka

2/ Garate

3/ Boring Bertie ~ not for the win but he'll be with the GC contenders.
