Subject: Who's doing what races this year??
Any body have there race season planned yet?

I am planning on Guelph Lake, Gravenhurst and Parry sound... plus either Bracebridge or Huntsville HIM... maybe...

Would be interesting to see how many BT'rs are going to be at each race...

Well if my meniscus tear heals and I can get my swim training going I might be ready for the Chemong Lake tri in July! then I'll be doing the Wasaga Tri if all goes well!

Current confirmed schedule is Mooseman (NH) in June.
Tentative Schedule also includes:
Smiths Falls Sprint
Musselman HIM (NY)
Kingston Long Course
Something in September - either Montreal Esprit or Lake Geneva in Wisconsin.

Also a smattering of running races, time trials and Reach The Beach Relay in New Hampshire.

I expect to do Milton, Leamington, Steelhead and Cedar Point. There is a long thread a little way down the page where people have listed their 2010 races.

Will be in Wasaga as well, Emotionnal attachment as it was my first tri, was there in Sept. 2009. Did the GT, now aming for the OLY.

Milton Sprint on June 6th

Muskoka Long on July 24th

Muskoka HIM on September 12th

Rideau Lakes Tour -  Application sent, waiting confirmation.
Guelph Lake I Sprint - Confirmed
Gravenhurst Olympic - Confirmed
Kingston Long Course - Waiting for registration to open.
Timberman 70.3 - Confirmed
Oakville Labour Day Half-Marathon - Waiting for my coach's advice before signing up.
Ironman Florida - Confirmed

Fun season ahead as this will be my first Ironman race.

I am registered for 5 events now. Thinking about two more:

Around the Bay 30k (3rd go at this one)
Mercedes Benz 10k in Oakville (they raffle off a year lease to a Mercedes and have an aweome medal and tshirt)
Victoria's Du - had fun there last year
Guelph Lake Sprint
Muskoka 70.3 (Gulp, this is way over my head but i am prepared for hard work)

Thinking about:

Midsummer night's run - 15k. I have done the 30k the last 4 years and if i do the 15k I keep my streak alive!
Toronto Island - sprint - to prove to myself I can do it.

I am not sure what I'm doing tri wise this year. I'd like to do the inaugral race at Woodstock (close to home), but I'm commiting to do the Rideau Lakes tour with another BT'r (Nats... you should join us on the 185 km route ). 

I have also commited to do Tour For Kids again this year (www.tourforkids.com)... so this summer is bike focused. Four days of 200+km is a good way to toughen up the butt.

I will probably throw in a tri or two at some point, but that remains to be seen. I'd like to do Gravenhurst Oly... to redeem myself. I felt like I wasn't totally prepared for the run the first time I ran it. I'd like to see what I'm capable of on that course.

I'd also like to do Welland sprint... I had an issue the last time I did that race too. I'd like some payback for that one.



Hi Kevin!

I'll be the party pooper by sticking with the Century route (100km each way).  I don't believe I could possibly do the 185km each way, not that early in IM training (IMFL is in November). I was asked by a couple of friends to join the Classic route (177km each way) but then again, I fear I will end up biting more than I can chew. 

So it looks like you and I have unfinished business in Gravenhurst, LOL!  I want to improve on last year's finish time with a sub 5'55"/km run.  I plan on doing quite a bit of hill repeats in Inglewood!

Not registered for all of these yet, but the plan so far is:

Mississauga 1/2 marathon - May 16; Victoria's Duathlon -May 24;  Milton Sprint -June 6; IM Lake Placid - July 25; Muskoka 70.3 - September 12

Plus some 5 and 10k races throughout the year.
