How is Kona different then Lake Placid, CDA, Madison, or the Woodlands when it comes to triathletes visiting? It isn't. When you get a few thousand people together chances are you'll have a small percentage of stupid behavior occurring - this goes for both the athletes and the locals. I'll add Louisville, where someone through tacks down on the bike course a few years back. There are bad seeds everywhere and it makes for good press to print (or state) broad, sweeping generalizations. No one would pay much attention to a story that indicated that only a few people were mad. |
