So I have been taking some of your comments to the water.  Well this morning I swam with that invisable package that I tried to shove under my arm.  Stabbed the water at my head and did not let my hadn "Kite" upward.  What do you know, my head stayed down, my but floated up, my legs did not drag and my time was almost 15 seconds per 100 meters faster.  I only timed myself twice, thinking I need to worry baout form not time......but that clock was ther.

The best part, got out of the water, my shoulders felt fine and my lats felt used.  Before I was getting out with sore shoulders and my lats did not feel worked.  My distance was shorter, but thats ok.

Looking forward to try more tommorrow morning.

Oh and one more thing, I did not see my hands crossing in front of my face as much.  Over all a great morning.

Joe

Stop it, JH. You're makin' me cry into my chocolate fondant.

Super congrats on actually focusing on this stuff. (The swimming, not the fondant.)  Beautiful, beautiful work.

The best thing about reminding others about it all is that it makes ME remember it when I swim. Thank you, and {{{MELON PRESS}}}

Awesome! Form is a tricky thing and once you learn it, the outcome is obvious.

Congrats

Very cool! Glad that all the advice helped. Keep practicing your "new" stroke and keep looking for places to improve. Post another video soon too, OK?

That's awesome!  AdventureBear gave me some great insight and advice on a post I wrote last week about my first-ever swim lesson, and I always listen to what Yanti says. LOL

Im pretty sure it was in response to a video he posted. If you guys/gals post a video...we'll give you your own customized responses!

I just read all the comments from the different threads.  It was actually someone else that posted the video, but it was close to how I look swimming.  So it's read and take what you can from the different threads and see what helps.  Sometimes thngs click.

That was a great thread to read. I haven't swum in a structured fashion within lane lines for 11 years...I have so many new goodies in my head to take to the pool with me. How do people get videos like this...usually a coach taping you during a lesson? I haven't come across a gym that allows video recording. I'd love to tape myself and see how disastrous it is, or isn't...
