Subject: RE: why not use race wheels every day?Ouch. I commuted yesterday with the race wheels, fortunately made it with no issues. I've also been training with them. I've considered not doing it, but since I got the powertap, and it's on the carbon wheel, I'm kind of stuck if I want to have power on training rides, the back wheel has to be there. My wheels are all-carbon, with non-metallic brake surfaces (Boyd carbon clinchers). So I was thinking of throwing on a front wheel for training, that would have a metal brake surface. So now I'd have a front wheel with much better braking capability than the back, which makes me nervous in a panic stop. I've done enough endo's on my MTB to know that I don't need to experience that, especially on the road. Has anyone tried a metal/front carbon/rear wheel combo for braking? |
