Master  1890     Gig Harbor |  Subject: Quack, QuackOk College football fans. This is the year of the Duck! National Championship or bust. Now, before you bash me for my clearly biased opinion - hear me out. USC is ranked #1, Oregon is ranked #5 USC and Oregon have favorable schedules, and should be undefeated for their game on 11/3 @ USC. Oregon has a chip on their shoulder from last years game. USC has a great offense, and a suspect defense...Oregons strength this year is their defense (and they still have a great offense). Oregon beat's USC - then we (college football fans) get a rematch in the Pac 12 Championship game which would be at Autzen Stadium because we would have the better record. So - if Oregon beats USC twice this year - what would stop the voters from putting my Ducks in the National Championship? Seems as though everyone is overlooking my Ducks this year. All the talk is about USC this, USC that. I love it. Keep overlooking the #5 team in the country, and we will sneak up and exact our revenge for last year. GO DUCKS!!!! Master 1890 Gig Harbor | Subject: RE: Quack, Quack I don't believe in Jinx's I think they would be playing Bama in the Natty I can't wait for "the big L" for some of the top 10 teams.... just want an undefeated season for my Ducks. Of course, I WANT that every year.... I am definitely jumping the gun a bit. I haven't seen the Ducks play a single down yet (but you can probably guess what I'll be doing @ 10:30 EST). Of course - most of it will depend on how our young QB (a redshirt freshman) Marcus Mariota plays. I am basing alot on the fact that if MM beat out Bennett (who looked good in relief last year), there must be something to that. If he is indeed a good running QB who can throw and a good replacement for Dixon....the Ducks still have a potent offense. Wow this is going to be a great football season. I am sooooooo stoked! |

Living in the heart of Tiger country, I have no need to hold off judgement. They were the whipping boys of the Big-12 elite, and now they'll be the whipping boys of the bulk of the SEC. I hope they'll be making a ton of dough off the SEC television contract, because it's going to be a very long time before they finish a season bowl eligible. |
