Looking for advice on proper fit and proper style for a tri specific sunglass.  Im sick of sweat coming onto the glasses during the bike and the run, is there a certain style that reduces or eliminates this?

Funny you should ask this----I just placed an order for some Oakleys wondering just this question----I do see that some of the new Oakleys have the lenses treated with a "RainX" type stuff that they claim makes sweat/water roll right off---they call the lenses hydrophobic...they also sell a treatment kit that's supposed to accomplish the same thing with sunglasses you already have.....  Obviously NONE of this stops the sweat from coming onto the glasses but it's what little I found in my brief research on the subject.....

I started to use a Halo headband this summer. It worked pretty well to keep sweat from coming down the front.  Years ago I had a pair of sunglasses with a removable foam piece across the brow, but I found it to get too hot when I rode.

I'm interested in some glasses that are high enough in the eyebrow area that I can look through them when riding in the aero position. Any thoughts on those?

Yeah..I doubt you are going to find any glasses that "prevent" sweat from coming "in" (unless you just want to keep your swim goggles on ), but if its a real concern I would go with the sweatband idea as posted above.

I personally like Oakley Half Jackets with the transition lenses. Best glasses I have ever worn and the transition lenses are awesome. I also like the ear jackets..they really do seem to grip better when they get sweaty.

I have found that frameless glasses work best in when aero, I have a pair of tifosi photooptic glasses that I like because they have very little frame (just bows) and they change with the sun, so I can start with them on early in the morning and not change my glasses as it gets brighter.

Sweat is a problem when I run, but I typicaly just pull them a bit further from my face so that the sweat is on my and not my glasses. A hat works too.

I love my Rudy Sportmask. Huge lenses so they cover your vision from top to bottom. And sweat has not been much of an issue on them.

I LOVE my Tifosi Slip Carbon Fototec glasses. They have a photochromatic lense (light-adjusting) which is nice cuz I can wear them on sunny or cloudy days. They also have a red-tinted lense which is supposed to enhance the pavement - a plus for a cyclist and/or runner. I've really only worn them on the bike, so can't really say how they perform while running. Although, I think I would be more apt to ditch any sunglasses and wear a visor instead, while running...just a personal choice.

I like these.. There Ryders.  fits tight and no obstruction when in aero.  I prefer the yellow tint.  Takes away the glare but is still great in low light (overcast) and shadow to sun transitions are minimal.  They do have other tints too. But there isnt a forehead bar so its pretty tight.  No real issues w/ sweat compared to other sunglasses.

Rudy Project Sport Mask are what I wear. Huge field of vision and no frame across the top to block your view.

Tifosi's Voge's are a nice low-cost option as well.

I use the plain old, $5 nashbar rimless glasses.  They come in Clear, yellow, Amber, and smoke.

I'm picky as all get out about glasses but when riding I want to be able to see after a couple hours and I don't want to be too crushed if I'm changing a tire and step on my glasses or forget them on the side of the road.

Sam's Club has safety glasses that are wrap around, have no blocking of vision on the nose area and are $24 for 12 sets of glasses, either smoke or clear. They're UV protective and if I leave them on the side of the road it's $2.00 down the drain, not $200

In a duatholon i was wearing sunglasses for the bike.  IT was so foggy that i had could only look through the small little vents in the top of my specialized sunglasses.  Eventually just had to take them off.  Basically, it was so foggy, as i went through it, the clouds condensed on my helmet and rolled on my face, first time it wasn't all sweat.

Dont think any glasses will prevent that.  By the way, take the run like a man, wear a hat.

I have a pair of Rudy Project sunglasses.  I have been extremely careful with them, and the damn lenses keep getting scratched.  Some of my friends have had the same problem.

The lenses on my $12 Rite Aid sunglasses don't have 1 scratch on them and I admit that I abuse them.

My advice- don't buy cheep sunglasses because you wont get adequate protection from UV rays, but don't buy Rudy Project glasses either.

I'd have to say that I have had luck with all three of the following (I wear sunglasses almost all day at work, on the boat, to bike and run, etc. etc.):

 -Oakley Radar

 -Smith Factor D-Max

 -Native Dash XP

I would say that any of these are great glasses although they are expensive.  My personal favorite out of the three are the Native's.  They make a great product and it's extremely durable.  I smashed while closing the door of my car (forgot I set them down...big whoops) and I was still able to wear them afterwards, the lenses were a little scratched but you can buy new ones.  I finally had to retire them when the arm broke off them (I was trying to pull them out of my shirt and the arm started bending backwards until it snapped!).  Anyway, just my .02

I wear the Rudy Project Rydon 2, but I have a pretty small face.  I LOVE the glasses.  They are better than my Oakleys - don't slip and the lenses repel water well.  I got a pair of the Sportmask for my dad. He usually can see over his glasses and finds the frames too small.  These actually work for him.

I can't say enough good things about Rudy Project.
