I can't be the first one up. You guys must all be off working out already.

My plans for the day:

yoga with a focus on the abs
lower body strength work
half-hour run

I want to be out on my bike rather than running, but that's what I always want. I suppose I won't become a better runner by riding my bike all the time.

Hi,

I'm up! Plan on doing yard work, but can't seem to get started. Hubby is away for the weekend so I'm depending on my 17 year old son to help. Of course, he is still sleeping. I'll give him until 10 am and then boot his butt out of bed.

Bike or run later if my legs and back are okay.

No I'm not registered for that tri, but I thought I might pop up there to cheer on some people. Isn't it soon? (It's not today, is it???)
Although, I've thought about the one in September in Lake Geneva, because they have a baby-sprint distance, which is kind of my speed these days.

I'm registered for one in Naperville in July and one in Chicago in September -and that's all so far.

my fourth day of running.... a little fristrating... but i have been able to go a little further than the past few times. I can tell that my legs are getting a little more used to the abuse and the muscles are starting to get a bit stronger...

but my funny story for the morning....
I was on my last pair of clean underwear so i just wore my bathing suit under my shorts... seemed to work well enough and no real chafing....

Hopefully i'll get myself to the Y soon so i can start a membership and actually use my bathingsuit in a pool instead of on the road...

Caved into peer pressure and nice weather and went for long ride today.  After 20km, my legs were toast, so I just slowed down for the rest of the ride.  Rode 46km total....will definately take tomorrow off as I am tired just typing.

No more long or hard workouts after long run days.  I don't know why running knocks the stuffing out of me like that.

This is the first day back after a rest week. It so far has not happened as planned, I was suppost to run my first 5k today, but a nieghbor said it was yesterday, and I belived her, it was this morning and I missed it. Then I was going to run at 11:00, but my kids wanted me to take them to a carnival (at the finish of the 5k I missed!), so we spent the afternoon there, I am leaving in about 15 minutes to go run, I have 5 miles mapped out and that is what I am doing!!!!

AM:  30 mile bike
PM:  45 minutes on the elliptical trainer.  This should have been yesterday's run, but I never got to it because of the yard sale.

anyhow...about 5 miles into my ride, I realized I am now pretty far from home and I have no tools, tubes, or pump with me.  Not too smart.  So I stopped at the LBS on my way home and stocked up, even bought a new pump.  Found out about group rides on Sunday and Wednesday too.  Sounds like I ought to be able to keep up with them too, so I will give it a try, at least on Sunday.

ok, my L knee feels like sh*t, I can't believe I am actually looking forward to a shot of cortizone.  Pretty twisted, but I want to run, not be stuck on the elliptical trainer.

First big bike ride of the season- we did 37 miles in a little under 2.5 hours. Part of it was leisurely on the bike path, but once we got into the foothils we were cruising, up to 35 mph on one of the downhills. I felt pretty strong considering I haven't put in the bike time yet. Plus it's a gorgeous day here today, so the beauty of the Colorado sky, lakes, and rivers intensified my endorphin high!

I did a 180 km ride. I feel guilty for not running afterward eventhough I rode for almost six hours. That's the Irony of training for Ironman.

Forcing myself to rest today. Friday was a 40 mile ride/3 mile run. Saturday a 1700m swim/4 mile run. So today I'm telling myself over and over, "don't overdo it!" Who knows though...if I'm feeling good this evening a little 3 mile run might feel good!
