Subject: training log not working
we just bought a new macbook pro and i use the garmin 305 for my runs but the site does not reckognize my watch when i can get onto the training logs, computer looks as if it is loading the page but never actually opens it and when it does i cannot upload anything, i never had this problem before the new site launched now it is an everyday battle !! am i doing something wrong, never a problem with my bike when i use the edge 500....only with the garmin 305.. i have gone to garmin and they tell me i have the updated software, i have logged out and back in to no avail. dont know what else to do.

A few questions (quote this and reply in bold):

  1. Did this only start happening recently with your new Macbook pro?  If yes, what were you using before that both the 305 and 500 worked?
  2. Have you confirmed everything on this page?  (installed software, etc)
  3. What browser and version are you using on the macbook pro?  
  4. How are you uploading?  
    1. Via 'training logs --> add todays activity -->upload'
    2. OR via inside the workout editor 'Device Upload' button?

i have tried both ways, neither works. It is since i got the macbook pro, i will go to your link and try to go that route. using safari 6.0.4

Can you send me a screenshot of when it gums-up for both ways?  For Macs, it will be command+shift+3 at the same time.  It should place the screenshot on your dektop.  Attach it here or email me at ron at beginnertriathlete dot com

Use the 'attach file after posting' and then it will open a window to find it on your computer.

So I take it, from your pictures, that it just never loads the training log page?  It get's stuck on the screens you attached?

Correct, just gets stuck every time, strangely enough though i am able to access it via my iPad and enter manually... that being said it must be something with the laptop, do not have the problem with any other websites though.

Can you try uninstalling the garmin connect software, seeing if you can get to your log then re-install it?

Don't give up yet.  There are numerous reports of Safari 6.0.4 randomly not working for people in general not just here at BT.  Try downloading Chome or Firefox and I bet everything will be just fine.
