Master 2233 Mechanicsburg, PA | Subject: RE: CAN-A-DA!!! See that's what is cool about Canada. No offense, but places like Florida and California shouldn't have ICE hockey teams. New rule - if your locale does not have naturally occuring ice OUTSIDE for at least 3 months out of each year, you shouldn't have an ICE hockey team.  Curling is a bunch of fun to watch in person too. I got to watch (in person) the Canadian Olympic team a month after the Olympics and the other team 'uncled' after 3 ends. Pretty neat stuff. (yes it got to minus 52 with windchill where I live last winter - that's minus 63 Farenheit - just close your eyes and picture it. damn cold) Obviously swimming is indoors, but cut us some slack!! |

If it drops below 65 I stay indoors!!! I went to Vancover once during the summer. I loved it up there and was talking to some guy in a sporting goods store about the cheap hockey gear (I was like a kid in a candy store), but I had commented on how I wouldn't mind living there, because of the weather, then he said " yeah, but it's been so hot out lately." It was 80 something degrees. I knew then that I couldn't live there. |

Veteran 276 manitoba, canada | Subject: RE: CAN-A-DA!!! Vancouver is beautiful - lived there for my university years. But I live in the Prairies now, and it can get hot hot hot here. High 90's (yes, I have a conversion chart on my computer!) usually, though this summer it's been record-breaking cold. the coldest summer ever actually. Yay for us. But I see your San Diego, so high 90's probably don't impress you. (I see my smiley face problem now, I have no faces on my left - it's blank there! hopefully not a metaphor for my life or anything!) |
