Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() What sad is that he takes the lime light off a great woman like Rosa Park to focus on himself.... "I remember as if it were yesterday that fateful day 50 years ago. I was a nine-year-old Southern white boy who rode a segregated bus every single day of my life. I sat in the front. Black folk sat in the back. When Rosa showed us that black folks didn't have to sit in the back anymore, two of my friends and I who strongly approved of what she had done decided we didn't have to sit in the front anymore." |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Jim, if you believe an 8-9 year old boy has the ability to understand what was going on in that period of time... then let me tell everyone that I bench 500lbs and run a 2:12 marathon. :-) Eric run4yrlif - 2005-11-04 10:22 AM So...where is he lying? Giver ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well, my 5yo daughter goes to a mostly black school, so I have at least a bit of insight as to how a child sees the world of race, and I think sure, why not. It was a significant, widely reported event in American history, even then (from what I've heard...I'm not 59). I have no doubt that it got families to talking about the issue when it was on the news. And also, kids are pretty smart, as it turns out. When I was that age, I remember kids using the "N" word and cringing. ott13979 - 2005-11-04 10:29 AM Jim, if you believe an 8-9 year old boy has the ability to understand what was going on in that period of time... then let me tell everyone that I bench 500lbs and run a 2:12 marathon. :-) Eric run4yrlif - 2005-11-04 10:22 AM So...where is he lying? Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey Jim save your breath, or fingers in this case. There's a segment of America who would curse Bill Clinton if he healed their dying mother of cancer. Sad thing is I seen a lot of these types in Central America in the 70"s. Confused partisans who mistake their partisanship for patriotism. They would be well served to remember that their country deserves their loyalty always, and the government get theirs only when they deserve it. WMD's now there's a friggin lie, A BIG LIE!!!! Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Dude’s your making this political... I'm pointing out something that smells like a rat... kind of like when John Kerry said he ran the Boston but don't recall his time?? It's not about left or right it's about right and wrong. Sure I lean toward the right but I would call out Bush if he said that he invented the internet... Edited by ott13979 2005-11-04 10:50 AM |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Since you mentioned the Iraq war, here's an interesting tid-bit about the forged documents that implied a Iraq-Niger connection uranium connection. Friggin' Italians... ![]() http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2... As for the main topic. I have zero love for Slick Willy. Being a military member, I hate him more than most. The man is a pig, and I doubt he remembers the last time an whole truth ever crossed his lips. Hell he probably doesn't know if half the stuff he says is the truth because he's reading what's been handed to him. But the sad fact is that politicans of all parties are guilty as can be of it. bts |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() My folks have a big yard with a shed and multiple fruit trees. My dad will hold the dog ("Homer" is his name) in the kitchen where he can't see the backyard and my mom will take off running. She'll run around each of the trees crossing over the yard multiple times ultimately to hide behind the shed. This gets Homer all excited and my dad releases him so that he can give chase. Now a smarter dog would look around, not see my mom, and go look behind the shed. But Homer will pick up her scent and follow the exact path (I kid you not) that she took until he winds up behind the shed with her. It really is trippy. |
