Subject: RE: 5430 Long Course Triathlon : Official ThreadI just got my feet injected with cortisone and can start running on them tomorrow! Woo hoo! 3 days to train for that run! (I had to time it this way if I still want them to work for the Denver Marathon as I can only have cortisone once time per year) Okay, my strategy is going to remain the same: swim and bike for all I'm worth, then just try to run, jog or stumble as much as I can the rest of the way. I realized a long time ago that I am just not going to be competitive until I either lose my job or my kids go away to college anyway...and then my health will have to cooperate, so I'm just out there to have fun. ALSO, my biggest goal for the weekend is for my girls to have a great time at their first triathlon on Saturday! My 7 year old (who fairly recently learned to ride her bike) told me last night that she needs to focus on staying in control...even if someone zooms fast past her, she thinks she should take a deep breath and keep going like "dopey, dopey, doh" on her bike because she hasn't ridden long and she might "freak out" if she tries to go too fast...in her words. I thought it was very cute. Anyway...... Good luck to everyone Sunday and have a great time! |
