If Robert Novak's karma came back to bite him in the butt, what form would it take?

So, I googled Dante's levels of hell and found this test! I would be sent to Limbo as I am a virtuous non-believer.

Take the test - if you DARE!!!! http://www.4degreez.com/misc/dante-inferno-test.mv

Your fate has been decided....

You are one of the lucky ones! Because of your virtue and beliefs, you have escaped eternal punishment. You are sent to the First Level of Hell - Limbo!

Level 1 - Limbo

Charon ushers you across the river Acheron, and you find yourself upon the brink of grief's abysmal valley. You are in Limbo, a place of sorrow without torment. You encounter a seven-walled castle, and within those walls you find rolling fresh meadows illuminated by the light of reason, whereabout many shades dwell. These are the virtuous pagans, the great philosophers and authors, unbaptised children, and others unfit to enter the kingdom of heaven. You share company with Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Socrates, and Aristotle. There is no punishment here, and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet sad.

Not so fast, Renee.

Didn't you mention the other day that you had belonged to a church?

If so, and if you were baptised in that church, as a convert to Buddhism that would make you an apostate. Can't be a virtuous non-believer unless you were never a believer in the firstplace.

Sorry, someone had to break the news to you.

'Course, if this concerns you, you should consult a professional for accuracy.

Hey, Don, I'm just reporting what the test results indicate!

I think I'd have wiggle room even under your rules since I always had trouble accepting that Jesus was my Savior. I wanted to believe, I tried to believe, but I just don't. In any event, you can be a non-believer even if you tried to believe in the past (my logical personal opinion, not a legalistic opinion).

Anyhoo... I believe these are according to Dante's take on hell which is not necessarily the RC Church's official position.

The Air America joke made me burst out laughing.

Thankfully they're not my rules, I just try to follow them.

Seriously, see a pro if it concerns you. My read is different:

Catechism 2089 "Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same; apostasy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith;

That's gotta be the first BT link to the Vatican, I would think.

Who would write that Air America thing? Probably someone who doesn't like Michael Moore movies.

edit:
seriously, I know you're kidding around about limbo... I only posted this in case you're not, and you're thinking limbo ain't such a bad fall back position...

I ended up in Purgatory.

Here's a link to try:
http://quizfarm.com/test.php?q_id=43870

It nailed me right on the money.

But I tried to play around with it and so thought I would put in answers completely on one side of the Q&A (agree with everything), then tried it again putting answers mostly on the other side (disagree with everything), and both times it labeled "me" a fundamentalist. LOL

I go to the second level of Hell:

"You have come to a place mute of all light, where the wind bellows as the sea does in a tempest. This is the realm where the lustful spend eternity. Here, sinners are blown around endlessly by the unforgiving winds of unquenchable desire as punishment for their transgressions. The infernal hurricane that never rests hurtles the spirits onward in its rapine, whirling them round, and smiting, it molests them. You have betrayed reason at the behest of your appetite for pleasure, and so here you are doomed to remain. Cleopatra and Helen of Troy are two that share in your fate."

Don, I know it's all in fun.

I don't believe hell exists, so I'm not really preoccupied with what Dante predicted for my fate.

And I know who did that Air America thing!

Gatsby, it said I'm a Classic Liberal! Imagine that.

You are a classical liberal. You are sceptical about much of the historicity of the Bible, and the most important thing Jesus has done is to set us a good moral example that we are to follow. Doctrines like the trinity and the incarnation are speculative and not really important, and in the face of science and philosophy the surest way we can be certain about God is by our inner awareness of him. Discipleship is expressed by good moral behaviour, but inward religious feeling is most important

OK I like to test these tests.

I decided to answer all the questions in a "virtuous" way and then tried answering all of them in an "immoral" way. I must have gotten some of the questions wrong because I only got to Level 7 in hell and I was still in purgatory, even when I was on my perfect behavior.

So, here's the challenge. Can anyone game the test and get thrown in level 8 or 9 of hell? Is there a way to go straight to paradise?

You answered in "Virtuous" and "immoral" ways by your defnition. Obviously your definitions and the tests do not agree on all questions.

Hmm.

Exactly. You got it. So does somebody out there have a better idea of what it takes to get thrown into the deepest part of Hell? It's like a challenge. I mean, I didn't see " have you ever betrayed Jesus with a kiss and then hung yourself?" as a question.

OK I made it to level eight and then nine.

The trick is to carefully observe the labels they put on the levels. It judges you by the type of bad behavior, not necessarily the amount of bad things. To get from level eight to nine, I actually had to become a better person in some categories.

Hey Renee,
Remember when you said you were wary of people who always agree? Well, I answered "yes" and "true" to every answer and you'll be pleased to know there is a special place in level 7 of Hell for yes-men.
