New user 18 | Subject: Races for 2016 Never can start planning too early. I took my race list from last year and updated to give me something to do while recovering from a broken ankle. This is Ontario specific but includes most if not all races mentioned in last year's list. The first column indicates 'y' if the 2016 date has firmed up. It's blank if the date is a guess from last year. The table scrolls to the right and has a link to the last known page of the event. The fees may be a year or two old, and I think don't include Triathlon Ontario fee. There is a google spreadsheet at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-6Hjcj5prhFiWQz1Lf8JouoqIZqo... that is colour coded and to which you can add comments, and possibly sort differently. Feel free to make notes and I'll update the table here and in the original spreadsheet.

553 St Catharines, Ontario | Subject: RE: Races for 2016 Took the plunge and will be having my first tip at Olympic distance at Wasaga.
Two weeks of vacation near the event should mean that I turn up fat and full of potato chips well rested and properly tapered. Very happy to be trying a new venue and to be back racing with MSC.

It's a great spot but the water can be rough. Get in some open water swimming beforehand. |

Two weeks of vacation near the event should mean that I turn up fat and full of potato chips well rested and properly tapered. Very happy to be trying a new venue and to be back racing with MSC. I got that warning for a work college who races with one of the Toronto teams. I am lucky in that I have a west facing beach near my home that is on Lake Ontario. So during the summer the prevailing wind produces a steady chop and roll in the shallow water there. Good for practicing not being able to see anything and water swelling over you when you breathe to the wrong side. :-) Is a fun sport isn't it? Fun? Like this morning cycling to work in zero degrees. That's fun too? Right? |

Oakville | Subject: RE: Races for 2016 Wasaga Beach is a great venue and I haven't decided if I'll be racing the Sprint or the Olympic. The water was rough for 2012 to 2014 but MSC's decision to move the event 2 weeks earlier to the end of August helped and last year was a fantastic race weekend. You're going to really enjoy it. |

New user 18 | Subject: RE: Races for 2016 HealthMax your list would complement mine because I tended to favour sprint and longer distances, and kids events, instead of try-a-tri. TheCrownsOwn I updated St. Joseph Island and added TriGator for kids. TriGator has already sold out! b2run North Bay Triathlon is now on the list. Chemong Lake and Stoney Lake have firmed up. The main Stoney Lake web site is down but the RaceRoster link is working. Full list updated here
