Guess I forgot to post this report!

Race morning was pretty cold - and OMG the wind. I've never seen anything like it on a race morning. I had a throw away shirt - could have used a whole throw away down coat and snow pants!

The beginning of the run goes over the causeway as the sun is rising. It was pretty cool to run along side all those big cruise ships!

I would have liked to run at a 9:45 but the beginning was just slow going - lots of people in packed streets and I really wasn't warmed up anyway.

Oh well. to finish is to win :)

Warm down:

We had the best hotel - walking distance but just far enough out of the fray. WOOT!

I just started doing tris this summer and I have two under my belt, both sprints. Is it reasonable to build up for a Oly in early ‘09, with a HIM in Oct of ‘09

I will assume you have not run consistently more than 6 miles and have never completed a half-marathon. I believe running your first half-marathon is a big task which requires dedication and work.
 
This is, after all, Ironman.
