After Jim's Newbie blast and being an EASILY offended professional Lurker I figured I'd dig up some dirt on old Jimmie boy. Me, yes me, the dude with a sub 10 post count will not only start a thread in COJ but I'll bring Jim to his knees with scandal. Well it didn't take long...low and behold right in his log he mentions going to a SHOP to have his steer tube cut!

I'm asking you what kind of a MAN can't cut his own!?! I mean you measure that thing about eight times to be sure (nothing more worthless than a too-short-tube), grasp it firmly, and cut as fast as you can!! No one else should be handling that thing!

I think he didn't do it himself so some cute guy at the bike shop would grasp his steer tube!

speedball, you won't be the first man to stalk Jim. He's a catch. Metrosexual. Sensitacho. Almost makes me consider looking twice at his avatar (knowing full well the guy only posts other guys' packages)

But be careful. Jim is also a cunning linguist. You can't win.

BUUT, if someone has brownies made or wants to pop some cron, I'll hunker down to watch...

Is a steer tube the same as a wahoo?  Can the steer tube even compare to the wahoo?

Oh man that's great. You totally should not be lurking. It's funny, when I post potentially double-entendrey stuff, I usually realize it. I didn't even have a second thought about it when I did wrote that.

Good catch. Well done, sir.

And for the record, if your steerer tube needs cutting, I personally having it professionally done. One wrong cut, and game over.

Check it out- subsititue a "l" for a "t" and you get Jim's steer lube.  Amazing.  Is that what you were going to say 3558?

.

The question should be, WHY shorten your steer tube?  Leave it long and uncut.  I've been told size matters. And, isn't it true that you have better lateral control with a longer steer tube?
