Has anyone else had this before besides those from Louisiana...was wondering if they sell this outside of the Southeastern United States.....I just picked myself up a case and already had a few, rate it a 7.5 / 10...I could see the strawberry taste getting old though

When it's in season, I can get it here in GA. It's great. But my frickin' grocery store won't stock the Amber...

ETA: If you keep it cold, the strawberry taste doesn't wear on you much at all.

The strawberry is a little too much for me, but I loooooooooove Purple Haze.  (Raspberry Wheat)

Weather is almost warm enough for it!

Probably my least favorite Abita brew, but I'm not keen on fruity beers.  Although, of the the fruity beers I've tried, I think it's one of the best.  I'm still sticking with my Turbodog, though.

x3! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Purple Haze. It goes down way too easily and it's dangerous. I'll have to see if I can find the Strawberry.

I tried to buy it at Whole Foods today, but they didn't have it.  I did get to chat with the beer manager, though, and he said he was going to ask the Abita rep about it today when he came in.  Hopefully they'll get it in.

Can't get that, however i do get this : http://www.frulibeer.com/

Whichi love
according to wikipedia

The high intensity of the strawberry taste in the strawberry Früli tends to polarise the general public's response. Those who prefer an intensely fruity taste to their fruit beers claim that Früli is the most natural-tasting fruit beer (in fact, devotees of the slightly sweeter fruit beers tend, perhaps unsurprisingly, to rate the distinctly sweet strawberry Früli more highly than any other beer).

By contrast, those who like their fruit beers to be more 'beery' (and those with only limited affinity for fruit beers) tend to find the fruit intensity of Früli excessive and overwhelming, and find the taste of Früli to be unnatural, often raising questions as to whether Früli qualifies as a beer in anything but name and manufacturing process. Detractors often also complain of a perceived artificiality or inappropriateness in the sweetness, which they find reminiscent of sherbet or cream soda which most likely derives from Fruli's strong and distinctly vanilla-like after-taste which is only partially balanced by the characteristic sourness (very familiar to those acquainted with Hoegaarden) of white beer.

Hoegaarden is a wheat beet btw

Turbodog, I think, is Abita's best beer.

Fruit flavored beers scare me (this includes beer that is served with fruit in it, i.e. lime)

Even Corona with lime? Mmmmmmm.....

But for the most part I have never enjoyed fruity beers. But Abita's Turbo Dog is pretty awesome and when I visited my parents in NY they had Abita Beer up there too.

We do not get Strawberry Abita in AZ.

As a Slidell native, I'm throwing my hat in for Purple Haze.
