So, I think I've found the winner for a race day wheelset... the 808/900 combo is SWEET. These are still the rentals (thanks, racedaywheels.com), but now I know what I'll be shopping for this fall/winter...

And I needed to take some pictures with the Quarq/310XT setup too...

Here she is, my faithful P2C, all decked out for race day. If that doesn't inspire you to ride fast I don't know what will.

Beautiful!

If you're not fast on race day, don't blame the bike.

Looks awesome, do you have any problems with your Garmin?  I read a lot about people having issues with various wireless computers

Nope--I've been really happy with the 310XT/Quarq setup. I don't use the Garmin speed sensor since the Quarq transmits cadence as well.

Sweet. That's not the stock saddle that came with the P2, is it? If not what saddle is it?

No--it's a Cobb V-Flow Plus. It's ugly, but man is it comfortable.

I don't think it's ugly. Different, maybe, but not ugly.

Just as a sidebar, I think the saddle that came with my P2 (fi'zi:k Arione Tri2) is the most comfortable nosed saddle I've ridden.

on a side note, i ride the same front wheel with a blackwell disk (same disk i think), great wheelset, never any issues in the wind, and fast!

Nice! I recently got the same setup - 808f/900r. I'm disappointed that I can't hear the hum while I ride, but I'm sure everyone I pass can!

*LOVE* the name on the top tube. Awesome. Awesome.

They are, but thanks to some bargain hunting I didn't exactly pay retail. Nowhere near it, in fact. I was ready to buy the Vuka Bull/Clip setup until I stumbled upon a ridiculously good deal on the VukaAeros.

Yeah, I tried the 1080s and the front did react more noticeably to crosswinds. I thought the 808 would too but it's extremely well behaved.

the 1080 is also a much heavier wheel comparative to its rim depth. good for non-technical/flat courses but at least from the short time i rode one not something i would want fo an everyday wheel.

The tubular version is only 90g heavier than the 808 for the set, but I agree that the 808 is a better all-around wheel. If I decide to do any RRs or crits again I could use the 808s and have a great wheelset for that--not so much with the 1080.
