Well the temperature reads -2 degrees up here in northern Michigan and what better winter beverage to sip on then some nice tea. I've really been taking an interest in all the varieties of blends, as well as mixing some of my own. Does anyone else share a similar interests? Any particularly good brands or blends out there?

I am quite fond of Light of Day Organics (lightofdayorganics.com). They provide wonderful experience!

I love hot tea.  I order loose leaf tea by the pound bag from http://www.adagio.com My favorites are Yunnan, Irish Breakfast, and English Breakfast.  The selection is great.

I love Celestial Seasonings brands. Factory store is half an hour up the road so I always have a tea-stocked kitchen

I just ordered a bunch from adagio, too.  I really like the Oooh Darjeeling and the Snowdrop.  Plus, I'm trying out a bunch of the samplers to see if I like any of the other ones.  Very good tea.

Haha, I used to live up in northern Michigan, in Oscoda. Tea is amazing, especially a good warm up drink before an hour run out in the cold. Recently, I have been drinking Guiyaki Yerba Mate tea, it is really good. It has a slight smoky-bacon taste to it, but I love it!

I have not developed a taste for green tea.  It tastes like hay to me (I grew up on a farm).  Artemis, I have never tried white tea like the snowbud.  I might have to order a small tin.

The white tea is good.  It's a light flavor and doesn't really have the "hay-like" flavor that green tea has.

Thank you for the link to the tea! I LOVE variety of tea, but the shop I used to get tea at I no longer frequent (don't travel there on business and haven't for years). I try varieties from the grocery store, but they are not the same.

I also dislike having to buy a whole package to try it, so being able to get samples at a reasonable cost is very enticing!

I like the teapot/strainer/cup thingy too. Does it work?

I have had the "Ingenui-tea", teapot strainer thingy for years and absolutely love it.  I have one at home and at work.  Making a single cup of hot tea is easy.  Just rinse it out afterwards and occasionally throw it in the dishwasher.

Man, for me it is all about just straight up black tea. Good, strong, British black tea.

My favourite is Punjana

with milk and sweetener ("coo and two")

And why are electric kettles so bloody expensive in the US? They're a dime a dozen almost anywhere else, but here they're 35 or 40 dollars. Thankfully, Amazon is my friend. I can't stand the on-the-stove kettles....the water tastes flat to me.

I love teavana (http://www.teavana.com/) too! In store, they let you smell the teas before you buy. But I don't get to Atlanta very often to buy from them.

I love Earl Grey. It's really good with sugar and a bit of fresh lime juice. But my favorite is plain old Celestial Seasonings peppermint. It's so refreshing.

I love tea too, since I don't drink coffee. Mostly just whatever interesting flavors I can find at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's or whatever. I like Teavana, but it's expensive.

I don't think I'll ever go back to packaged tea bags. I can't live without my loose leaf teas and strainer pot. YUM!

I frequent a great store in Old Town Alexandria that has over 200 on the shelf at any given time! MUCH cheaper than teavana. I'm into a lemon rooibos (rooibosch) right now, so smooth!

I've been drinking them plain as the flavors I've been trying have been great!

What store is this?  I've gotten into loose leaf teas in the past year or so and teavana's a little expensive for me to frequent.  I'd love to check this place out next time I'm home in NoVA.

Its on Union Street close to the water. Its called Old Town Tea & Spice. They do have higher end teas ($40lb) but most of the teas that you buy in 1/4lb. are between $3.50-4.00. So, about $12-16/lb.

If you're unsure of a flavor but want to try it out, any glass of hot tea they will make for a $1......thats how I got suckered into buy a $40/lb Pomegranate Green Tea....OMG sooooo goooood. It was a stretch, but that $10 for the 1/4lb will last me a long time.

I happen to be drinking a nice hot cup of tea right now.

I like ginger- it has a great spicy kick to it to wake you up and also calms the stomach. Peppermint tea also is soothing for the tummy. Another great type is Hibiscus, which is high in vitamin C. When I feel a cold coming on, I make sure I drink a lot of it.

I'm a big fan of "Teavana", too- brewing your own tea with loose leaves beats the tea bags any day! But I'll take tea in any form.

I go to Buford Highway in Atlanta to our Asian district and get my green, white and purerh tea from the Chinese grocery store.  You may pick the wrong item (I did that and it tasted like bitter bark) but it is usually pretty good.

I am a tea fiend!  I have a great love of all kinds of black tea and herbal blends.  I buy a lot of loose leaf tea from Mountain Rose Herbs and I also buy several pre-packaged brands (though I know the loose leaf is better in so many ways) like Tazo and Harney and Sons.  I love Oolong for treatment of hives (I get hives when I get too warm and for no good reason quite often).

I have a new guilty pleasure I developed on a trip home (San Diego, CA) - hot tea lattes.  I had some at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (as well as their other teas) and Starbucks (even though I really dislike the fact that the company kicks out smaller coffee places in some areas)...

I also love Oregon Chai Vanilla Latte concentrate that you mix with milk and microwave - delish on a cold day....Tongue out
