Subject: Ladies: Sports bra help please

Okay, I need some help. I need new sports bras, but I can't seem to find anything with enough support for running. I'm not the kind of girl who can pull off the little work out tops as my only form of support, but I'm also not a size DD. I'm a C cup and just need enough support to not be bouncing all over the place. Do any of you ladies out there have any suggestions on good sports bras?? I've always used Under Armour, but mine are too worn out now. Help, please!

Also, I haven't done my first triathlon yet, but what do you girls do with swimming and running? I know there are tri-specific suits and stuff, but is that enough support?

For sports bras, try titlenine.com. The number of barbells tells you how much support a given bra provides. As for the tri top, it gets a heck of a lot less supportive once it's wet, so consider wearing a fast-dry sports bra underneath.

I'm a fan of Moving Comfort Fiona and CW-X Firm Support bras. I absolutely hate to bounce and both of those keep my Cs in place (though I will still tell myself I'm a D in regular bras). Tri tops alone do not provide enough support for me.

I was going to suggest the same thing. Title Nine is awesome for that. Personally I use Champion. Yup, that little known brand. They have the only ones I have found that have zero chaffing after 26.2 miles. Very important criteria in my boat.

My wife swears by Enell Sports Bras. I think they come from England. They are the only bras that keep "the girls" in place. For reference, she is 34DD and wears a size 1 in Enell.

I LOVE CWX bras! I am a D and they do not move when I run or do anything else for that matter. Titlenine is a great website. I found my pricey CWX bras at an EMS store in NH for a massive discount, but there are plenty of other places you can look where they'll have sales.

I'm a 34D, so you might not need quite as much support as I do. That said, I'll second the Moving Comfort Fiona bra (the Maia bra is good too, but it might be overkill in your case). Also, Champion Powersleek is a very good sports bra. Currently, that one is my favorite.

As for the tri suit, mine is not quite supportive enough to run in (I have separate tri shorts and top, Louis Garneau brand. The top has the built-in shelf bra, and it offers a good deal of compression, but it just isn't enough to keep the girls happy.) I just put a sports bra under it and I'm fine. Although, you don't even need to buy a tri suit if you don't want to. Slap a sports bra under your swimsuit, put some running shorts on top of it if you feel like it on the bike and/or run, and you'll be good to go.

RoadRunner Sports Sportek bra. Unbelievable, and cheap. I've worn them for years. They're the only ones that keep me in place and don't ever chafe.

I'll 2nd the Champion Double Dry Distance...nice fitting bra, and can frequently be found on sale at Kohl's. I'll also give "props" to the Champion Seamless Full Support, also found at Kohl's. Both of these have an underwire...which is needed in my particular case. The only potential downside to them, is they don't come in a "racerback" style, which I prefer to wear if I'm wearing a racerback style top. I can't stand ugly bra straps showing! So, in the instances wear I do wear a racerback top, I usually have to go with a pull-over style racerback bra, and lately my favorite in that category is the Moving Comfort Phoebe C/D. It does have a slight bit of "smashing" effect, but not enough to be uncomfortable. BTW...I'm a 36/38 C.

I really like the under armor or nike dri fit ones. I hate hate hate when they bounce around so I wont wear just a tri suit. The dri fit bras seem to dry out pretty quick in a race and hold me in place/

I bought a ShockAbsorber Level 4 on an Expo 5 years ago and I never ran without that bra since.

They are not cheap but they last a long time and I feel like a flat chest wearing them while running although I am a 34D.

Love love love them.

You can buy them on amazon.

During TRIs I always wear them under my TRI-Stuff as I never get enough support with just Tri-Tops or bathing suits!

A good sport bra is very important, especially on the run. Spend ALOT of money.....its worth it. Good luck in your search.

I have both the Moving Comfort Fiona and the Champion Seamless Full Support and I really like them both (I'm a 36 DD or DDD). I have an Enell bra that I got when I first starting getting back into exercise, but now that I've lost a bunch of weight (70 lbs) it is too big and I won't spend the $80+ to get another one (more full coverage than I want now). I also have a bra from Change (can't remember the model) - it is very thin material and dries fast so I wear it under my suit for races but I've found it is not as supportive by itself so I wouldn't wear it for running.
