Subject: RE: Finishing the Christmas TreeOriginally posted by Hot Runner Usually none of the above, since our cats might eat it. All our ornaments have a story behind them--We collect them on travels through different countries, or they were made by friends/relatives. When I was younger we strung popcorn but for some reason it's no longer part of the tradition. We put a lot of tiny teddy bears on the tree in memory of a departed, much loved cat who loved to pay with a few similar ornaments. I also have a big bunch of velvet chili peppers I found in a shop in Kathmandu that we hang like candy canes on the tree. Here in Vietnam, it's an artificial one in my classroom, and the kids can decorate it however they want. Every year it's different! We are now petless, so tinsel was an option. But yeah, pets make it hard to do a few different tree related decorating things. |
