Don't be a Slacker in August!

This is an individual challenge.

You can set goals in ONE to FOUR activities.

YOU define the goals. YOU define the 'rules.'
For example: You can swim, bike and run..... Or you can water jog and aqua bike. Whatever you want, it's up to you.

YOU define the activities. (Does 'swimming' include kick drills? Does 'running' include elliptical work?) YOU decide, and set your goals accordingly....

YOU set the goals. Only want to swim once? Only want to bike once? YOU decide, and set your goals accordingly.

If you fall behind in one goal, you can make it up in another. (Ex: 0% Swim + 200% Run is still 100% Overall)

To participate:
Sign up on this Google spreadsheet:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0An7ZkKfHG1L1dEtSX0dzTGtHRGt...

You will need to enter the following information to logon:
email address: [email protected]
password: challengeforum

If you can't access the spreadsheet:
Scroll to the bottom, and look at the bottom right corner. If it says, "edit this page," click that link and enter the info above.

Each team member will update his/her own info on the spreadsheet.

The Challenge will begin on the first day of the month, and end on the last.

In the event of injury/illness, you may revise your goals or request to be dropped from the challenge.
If you achieve 100% of your goal before the month is over, you may raise your goal.

Smack talking:
-- Smack talking is not mandatory, but may be done.
-- Smack talk is different from a personal attack. If you aren’t sure what the difference is, err on the side of caution and do not post the comment. (Keep in mind that real people are reading your comments!)
-- Smack talking is not to be taken personally. If you get upset about a post, ignore it and move on.
-- If you find a post offensive, and cannot simply ignore it: Walk away from the computer until you feel better, OR better yet, go for a good workout. A hard workout does wonders for your perspective.

The ultimate goal of this Challenge is to push yourself in an activity (or activities), to work out, to meet fellow BTers (virtually or otherwise), and to have some fun!

Hopefully, this Challenge will give you a little extra incentive and motivation to succeed at your goals – whatever they may be.

Welcome to the Challenge!

- Dee

I'm in again!  I'll be on vacation for the second half of August, so I only have half the month to redeem myself.

I entered my goals into the spreadsheet.  They might be high again, but hopefully that will keep me on my toes!  No races planned this month, so I can focus on training rather than having to taper, race, recover, etc!

I'm glad someone started up the challenge for the month so I can redeem myself and get my sorry behind off the slacker list. I'll put my name on the list and add my goals as soon as I work things out for the month.

I'm in.  I'm going to increase my goals from last month too.  (I know I didn't make it, but still...)

I have a timed ultra set for the 14th - so that should make things exciting.

I don't think it's about total training hours so much as our final percent of goal.

Blake and I are going to do a side challenge as well this month.

Proposed rules: whomever gets a higher average percent of the goals for this challenge plus percent of the month with at least 15 minutes of exercise (tri sport, sport or strength) wins.

Penalty: loser has to change their signature to say that Jen the winner beat them in the previous month.  Maybe an avatar change, too?

Agreed - Definitely an avatar change... something VERY humiliating sounds fun.
