While swimming this morning, I was thinking "Wow, I would be so much faster if I could use my paddles and pull buoy on the swim".

In the genre of "taper madness", what would you like to use in your Ironman that you aren't allowed?

It would be great if my ironsherpa could wipe my brow, run with me to get me going again when I'm tired. ONe of those diver's motorized swimmie things would be good too : ) (you know, the hand held things that propel them through the water!)

"Is that a pool buoy in your pants, or are you just happy to see me?" I considered smuggling one of those into my tri suit before my last HIM. How funny would that be on race morning when a race official confronts you about that.

My honest answer is an Ipod.....

My fun answer would be some Batman style flippers and paddles that pop out of my wetsuit - and are transparent visually and to radar....  But that's in my comic book life...

Although this is probably not on the "Banned Equipment List", I would not want to risk a DQ unless I had something in writing from the RD that said I could wear them.

In reality, I really would like to skip it all together and run BF someday. (In an Ironman)

I don't think there would be any problem with those.  They don't give you any advantage, unless you're hiding a set of wheels in the bottom of your feet.

I want to say that a guy at either Florida or Wisconsin last year ran the marathon barefoot.

Not to worry Karen, when you pass me I'll sing for ya!

I really like my tunes when I run....however, I always run alone without anyone on the course.  During the race I'll be out there with 2,000 of my friends and thousands of spectators and volunteers every mile.

What does the song selection of the Rogillio Jukebox look like and, more importantly, where does she have to put the quarter?

My abolute favorite training song:

John Parr
"St Elmo's Fire (man In Motion)"

Album: St Elmo's Fire OST

Growin' up, you don't see the writing on the wall
Passin' by, movin' straight ahead, you knew it all
But maybe sometime if you feel the pain
You'll find you're all alone, everything has changed

Play the game, you know you can't quit until it's won
Soldier on, only you can do what must be done
You know in some way you're a lot like me
You're just a prisoner and you're tryin' to break free

I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire

Burning up, don't know just how far that I can go (just how far I go)
Soon be home, only just a few miles down the road
I can make it, I know I can
You broke the boy in me, but you won't break the man

I can see a new horizon underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire

I can climb the highest mountain, cross the wildest sea
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire burnin' in me, burnin' in me

Just once in his life a man has his time
and my time is now, I'm coming alive

I can hear the music playin', I can see the banners fly
Feel like you're back again, and hope ridin' high
Gonna be your man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin', St. Elmo's Fire

An "official" ice cream stop at the run special needs area. Dairy Queen would do!

Oh my god that is the most awesome suggestion!  an icecream stop is so what I feel like everytime its hot and I'm halfway through a really long training ride.

I love Dairy Queen, but I think the dairy would cause some tummy issues for me, snowcones anyone???
