I love thanksgiving, cause the Atlanta Marathon and Half in the morning rocks! Nothing beats sitting down to a huge meal knowing you've earned it.

Loved the Holidays as a kid.  Hate em as a grown up.  Feel pulled in about 15 different directions.  Just not enjoyable at all.

Thanksgiving has never been my favorite. I don't like cranberry sauce, sweet potatos, or  pumpkin pie. I don't really care for televised football, parades, or shopping in crowded malls. The gym is usually closed as well.

Christmas has become an ordeal since we have somehow become obligated to celebrate 4 times. (Our house, my parents house, her parents house, her aunt's house) This year we are escaping to Florida.

I'm going to NYC for Thanksgiving and it looks like (fingers crossed!) I'll be skiing around Christmas time.

I love Thanksgiving but I don't confine myself to the traditional starch-laden Thanksgiving menu. I'm toying with the idea of making beef wellington for Thanksgiving this year.

I love Thanksgiving! It's the time of year it finally starts getting cooler down here. For the past couple of years, we've managed to have my family and hubby's family in one house for fried turkey and whatever else makes it to the table. And we haven't burned the house down yet. Plus, the Saturday after is the Georgia-Georgia Tech football game, and we have a pig pickin' at my uncle's. Yes, I'm from the South!

Football is the only redeeming quality of the Holidays.  I love Texas/Texas A&M the friday after Thanksgiving.  However, it was much better when they played on Thanksgiving night.  Then I had an excuse as to why I was not at Thanksgiving dinner.

Yea, I don't really care. Holidays were never big for us because we lived away from extended family. We celebrate when we can.

I'll probably be running the Thanksgiving marathon in Atlanta not really planning on seeing family unless I feel like getting in the car after and driving to my moms. Maybe people will come visit me.

Wanna come to my aunt and uncle's with Amy, Nola and I? There's always lots of drinking and gambling...

Get to meet the sisters new boyfriend that she is bringing in with her from Chicago. I'm not as big and intimidating as I used to be but I bet I could out swim/bike/run him.

When we lived in Spain, we started a tradition of going somewhere new each Thanksgiving and we've continued the tradition here. This year we're off to the bay area.

My daughter and I also don't really like traditional Thanksgiving food very much...And I swear, since I don't like it very much, I don't eat much of it, but I always feel totally stuffed after each Thanksgiving dinner. I swear the food expands in your stomach or something.

I suppose it depends on which meal we're talking about.  The Thursday- Thanksgiving is spent at my BF's father's wife's family's (didn't know you could line that many possessives up in a row, didcha?).  They have a huge gathering with, I swear, 50+ people.  We will all be a one of the several "adult tables" I suppose.

On Saturday, we'll be heading to my BF's mother's house, and I'm pretty sure the only non-adult present will be my BF's 11 month old neice.  I imagine she'll have her own "table" in the form of a high-chair.

Then, because I'm a glutton for punishment, I've been toying with the idea of having a Friday dinner at my home for my dear friends.  Since I'm the hostess, I suppose I get to set out the placecards myself -- tee hee!

Oh, in case you haven't clued into it quite yet, Thanksgiving is my all-time favorite holiday.

Kids Table. There is never NOT a kids table. There are 32 cousins on one side, and there is NO WAY we all graduate to the adults table at the same time. My cousin's kids have started a "Kids Table 2.0"... but there is still no way we get the adult table.

Of course, last year, we had better beer at our table, so some of the 'adults' starting migrating over...

Edited to join in on the Thanksgivign love. This is the only holiday when we don't actually join the extended family, so it's just us (my brother, sig others, and parents). I had a great moment last thanksgiving with my oldest brother: we were sent to the liquor store with my dad's credit card. Ok, going the booze store with someone else's money? AWESOME. I'm the only girl, so there is always one night where my mom and I stay up and drink way to much wine and talk about boys and I try not to a heart attack that I'm hearing details about her sex life, and one night when my dad and I stay up and talk about boys and he tries not to have a heart attack that he's hearing details about my dating life. At least once over the weekend my middle brother and I will get into a screaming match ( we both get along great in DC...but when get around our parents, we totally revert to being 7 years old) and everyone will get pissed, and then will all drink some more. There will be the ever evolving debate over whether or not to get sig. others actually sleep in the same bed as the sibling they are coming with, and the early morning turkey trot that EVERYONE (Excepting me and one brother) bitches about like they have a fucking gun to their head (Although, you know, it is MN and fucking cold)

Anyway, dinner's ready... I think I'm gonna call my mom now.

funny Renee! The kids I know are much more interesting than certain adults I know...

I didn't vote, I couldn't. I must return after I think of some way to describe the agony that it will be for me to be with the inlaws AGAIN after their visit here last week. Thank God Xmas is with my family, and we always have longer Xmas vaca's than Tgiving vaca's...

By myself apparently.  I am on call and my parents I guess would rather have dinner with their friends than drive all of 70 miles so I am not by myself..OK I'm pissed.  I have spent many thanksgivings alone but they are no longer more than 1000 miles away.  GEEZ Maybe I will be able to get in a good bike ride?

All my brothers and sisters (6 of us in total) are getting together at my parents house. Still haven't graduated from the kid's table. With 6 of us, probably never will.
