Who else is watching?

1. Preseason rankings are still ridiculous.

2. The Big 10 is really pretty terrible.

Two losses to Youngstown St and Cincinatti really are character building. Hail to Pitt!

And yes, pre-season rankings really need to stop.

Well, Auburn pulled out a tough one against Louisiana-Monroe.

Maybe the SEC pundits are right. Louisisana-Monroe, a team that has never been .500 since moving to D-1, couldn't handle the gauntlet that is the SEC schedule. Now I understand why the SEC doesn't need to play big out of conference games.

Yeah, especially when the SEC plays Big 10 Teams, PAC 12 teams, and Big 12 teams for OOC games, just like playing The Sun Belt Conference teams.

They're actually a team this year. Arkansas was a spoiler upset, that was more or less what a lot of people watch football for, but beating an unranked (and not even receiving "Others receiving votes" votes) Auburn is like beating Vanderbilt.

(edit) looking closer, it seems Lousiana-Monroe has actually received votes to be ranked in all three major polls

Well, you do have a point there. The media makes sure that anyone in the SEC with a pulse is so overhyped that they are guaranteed to be ranked. And are you really gonna boast about an Alabama win over an Arkansas squad that won't sniff the polls the season.

I had just finished watching the Alabama game so I posted Big Al to say so. Would you mind showing me where I was boasting in any way, shape or form?

Not a really good way to have someone actually care about any future "Who's watching" threads enough to participate in them.

Enjoy your evening.

I apologize if that came off as offensive. We had quite a few of these threads last year and they typically had a fair amount of good natured ribbing in them. That was all I meant by the comment.

Not that most people care but, BSU looked pretty good today. I was worried we were going to suck horribly this year and we man handled UM(OH).

28-14 at half? Come on. They were about to be demoted to FCS.

In fact take away the 2 Pick 6's and the score is UI 14 LSU 21 midway through the third.

And 49-14 final, 63-14 with the interceptions (that actually do count for points, BTW). Is there a point you were trying to make? If 39-12 is "man handling" what is 63-14?

Surprised but not sad to see USC fall.

In other news, I'm sure we'll now have to listen to the national media trumpet ad nauseum about the return of Notre Dame to prominence.

U of I is much worse than Miami.

Honestly, looking at ND's schedule, if they do win out, they have a pretty strong case.

So it took 3 missed field goals and a touchdown being taken off the board on a great down field block wrongly called a hold for Ohio St to escape Cal. Eh, not that it will matter when they are watching bowl season from the couch just like any of us here.

Shankyou very much to Cal's kicker yesterday!!!!! However, you are dead wrong on the holding call. I was at the game. It was holding. And the sad thing for Cal and the receiver is he didn't even need to make a block. The kid was going to score anyway. Oh well, a win is a win is a win! Now bring on Alabama (the one from Birmingham).

Yes, we all know what a powerhouse Miami OH is. Still looking for your point in bringing the LSU game into the conversation. Are you saying, based on yesterday's games, that BSU is better than LSU?

Of course Idaho sucks. They're a member of that minor, weak sister WAC. You know, the one BSU used their domination of as a claim to the national title in past years.

While watching a game with 100,000 of your closest friend is a whole lot more fun than watching it from your couch, you get a far better view of controversial plays at home due to the wonders of a DVR.

The TE did have a hold of the DBs jersey, but he was inside the shoulders and his elbows werent locked. It was a textbook downfield block.

Speaking of the WAC, Utah St was a 37 yard field goal away from being in the drivers seat for a BCS game. BYU is the only team with a pulse left on their schedule and with wins over 2 BCS conference teams I don't think they could have been left out if they had run the table.
