- I believe Boyd Crowder used at least 3 of his 9 lives just in the last 2 episodes.
- Ava has been staring into the abyss. It appears the abyss is now staring back.
- But the real kick in the head - Arlo shooting a lawman in a hat to save Boyd. Harsh. That kind of cold will mess you up 'right quick.'
I think it's time for Marshal Givens to leave that hell-hole. "Every yime he tries to leave - they keep pulling him back in" And yeah, the Arlo shooting was cold, but also understandable given Raylans treatment of him. Elmore Leonard loves the show so much, he wrote another book last year to give the TV writers more ideas for upcoming seasons and he even used Olyphant for the cover. Not in my world. Patricide, matricide, fratricide, sororicide, filicide - worst kind of self-inflicted curse. Arlo's motivation wasn't just (very ironic) disappointment with his son. It's his lack of grace that allowed him to pull the trigger. I think it really speaks to the deadness that these characters have inside them. Speaking of the abyss ... But it makes for a good Greek tragedy.
Do you think Raylan would've shot Arlo if he saw him take aim at his state trooper friend? I do. Raylan seemed pretty pleased to be the one arresting him. Raylan wasnt upset that Arlo was going to jail, he was upset that Arlo was taking the fall for Boyd, for a different murder. Arlo is an embarrassment for Raylan and he has voiced his contempt for Arlo time and time again - directly to Arlo and with threats as well. Raylan wasnt upset when he found out that Arlo was just shooting a 'lawman in a hat' because I am sure Arlo thinks that Raylan would pull the trigger on him given the chance, and Raylan probably thinks, maybe even knows so too. |
