Comments: results: http://www.iresultslive.com/?op=individual&eid=5415&search=Toce went out hard and tried to settle into a rhythm; pace was faster than I wanted but I wasn't dying, so I tried to hold on and see what the first mile was; I was doing ~7:00 pace at the first half mile with the wind at my back and I slowed a bit as I was breathing very heavy; hit first mile @ 7:11, into the wind and slightly uphill on mile 2 but seemed ok despite the slowing, pushed harder on the final mile and then hardest on the last uphill 0.1 to the finish line by the arch What would you do differently?: nothing-perfect weather, body felt ok, did the correct nutrition and warmup Post race
Warm down: just walked around a short bit then back to the car; felt like I might cramp due to the cold air What limited your ability to perform faster: other than being older--zip Event comments: This was a charity 5K as part of the Greater Hartford Marathon and there were ~8000 ppl in the 3 races, which also included the HM and marathon. Superbly organized and very busy but controlled. Activities looked wonderful and there was so much to do and see. Great job by the HMF!! Kudos to rapid results also. Able to look them up by the time I got home about an hour and a half after the race. Last updated: 2022-09-24 12:00 AM
