I think that Welshy got smacked in the head by the "ice queen" with the ice scoop from trying to ask her out.  Now he can't speak English anymore!  I think he's tryiing to TriComet that he loves her!  Oh no- what do we do with Welshy?  This looks like another soap opera opportunity   I can just feel it!  Have at it!

So I don't get it- Welshy didn't have time for us for the past 2 days, and then he makes a comeback and we need a decoder to figure out what he's saying??

I`ll take a stab at the meaning- "I`d just like to say Your Hot TriComet....mmmm....t......uh...... nevermind..by the way Von should have won the poem contest."

I`ve had about a six pack, but I need another six to decipher the rest of the code.

I disagree.  Knowing welshy and his weekly trips to Thursday Happy Hour....I would say he is probably damn proud of himself right now.  he may be in pain, but he should be proud!  I know I am!!!

Ok, I am still a newbie to BT. This is the first I've heard of anyone's weekly trips to happy hour. Apparently he has quite the reputation with the Happy Hour crowd! I can't wait for more funny friday reads after his Happy Hour jaunts.

  1. From another Thirsty Thursday - note the edit time:

I have nothing ofimport to say, or export to say, for that matter, unless we are talkingabout some sort of NAFTA, in which case I will withdraw from theconversation on the count of I do not discriminate. I am in favor of both imports AND exports, both in equal or unequal amounts, without prejudice. But to stay on topic - admittedly hard to do have you ever stood on a topic? Ican tell you it is no easy task, though quite topical, depending onyour philosophic topography -and lest you discard the importance oftopography, try approaching a topic without some sort oftopical graphy, and you will be lost faster than... (ok, that’s just silly).

Again, to stay on topic (andI will spare you the same re-hash of the whole topical conversationbecause the paradoxical morass is frankly too much for even thisnarrator's paradoxical doxical to handle), suffice it to say Ido not suffice, although I have a problem with suffiicing on generalprincipals as sufficing is not legal in Texas , nor in most of thesouth for that matter and I do not want my cows tipped. Sufficers oranti-sufficers, let's not get carried away.

Stay on topic (I use the phrase loosely as my own view of staying on topic has been made, if not clear, apparent).Stand on principal, stand your ground, stand for a round of drinks, they are all child's play compared the slippery slope of standing ontopic. What has standing on topic to do with staying on topic, you ask?Well, nothing, to be completely frank (though my name is Thomas). Ultimately, standing and staying aren't even in the same bag of potato chips. Maybenot even in the same grocery isle, unless or course you are standingAND staying at the same time, in which case the two are as bosom asbuddies can be - as potato as chip ever was. So what we are reallytrying to say here is standing isn't all it's cracked up to be,particularly when your staying on topic, which we shall do, post-haste.

Thetopic is, I have nothing to say. Of course, that is not exactly true, but sometimes you have to roll with the flow, though, truth be told, rolling, if you really turn an open eye towards the whole thing, is atcomplete odds with flowing. I have to say rolling with the flow is alittle deceitful. I mean, really. Flowing implies a meandering; a slow random movement precipitated by other forces. Rolling, on the other hand, has a momentum all its own. Youcan have a flowing river, and you thinkers out there will inevitablybring up CCR and Rolling On The River, but we are talking about stoneshere and rivers really have nothing to do with anything, just ask the
Rolling Stones who, I have it on good authority, never rolled on a river in their whole lives.

Stay on topic? HA! We shall endeavor to do so... Ok, where were we? ...back to the topic before that topic but after the other topic: have you ever heard of a flowing stone? Of course not. A rolling stone would walk (or roll) circles around a flowing stone. Aflowing stone is fluid, melted even, slow and hot with pregnant heat, while there is absolutely nothing fluid about a rolling stone. Imagesof dust and dirt bounding down the hill side er... abound, and are ascommon as most of the women I date, but I digress. Anything thatabounds most clearly cannot roll - there is a bounce in abound that thespin in rolling just can't compete with. But put that aside for now. Add water to a rolling stone and you have a sinking pebble faster than you can say Confucius. And don't ask me what Confucius has to do with anything, because I don't have that kind of time.

Bottom line is: Papa was most assuredly not a flowing stone. No, he rolled. Rolledwith the punches, so to speak, and probably had nothing of import tosay either - other than where is my hat, I want to go home.

An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can
lay down on the ground and hold on to a blade
