Veteran  264   Halifax |  Subject: A poll for the ladies.So awhile ago my wife says that we should get some portraits done. Kind of a nice black and white set up with nude photos of curves and lines. Nothing full frontal or pornographic, but something that could hang on the wall. So I been a bit of a critic of this but I been starting to come around to the idea. But now she says they would just be of her because “the male body and skin isn’t sexy. Men dressed up are sexy”. Which I can understand in a way because you never see a man in a ‘backless tuxedo’. But I have to get a general consciences from the ladies on this one… Do woman find the male form, build, and or skin sexy? |

(with a few qualifiers of course!) the "david" comes to mind Hmm...if I were going to hang a "portrait" on my wall of the male form....probably from the back (wide shoulders-small waist- great buns!)turned a lttle to the side like looking back - so can see little profile- of face/nose...in soft focus.... Whew- hey thanks for the moment - I enjoyed that !LOL |

I know what you're sayin'. My husband in a towel afer a shower....mmmm. Yep..I love the male form. Definitely a strong back and shoulders/arms do it for me! But not neccessarily "big." I think tasteful black and whites in the nude would be beautiful. |

I try to focus my camera on the inner beauty of the form, and I go out of my way to try and find "unconventional" beauty. Naked men are beautiful, but more shocking. The number of naked female forms to the number of naked male forms in modern and contemporary art are extremely skewed. The female form is thought of in the "classic" and "Renaissance" beauty, whereas male nudes are seen as reflecting a "feminine" tradition of nudity. So with that all said, find the right photographer and everyone can be beautiful. |

Not every man OR every woman nude are going to look sexy to anyone other than their SO (if that) just standing there letting it all hang out. However, every single person on planet earth has one thing about them that is beautiful and sexy, even if it is just their elbow. Any photographer who is a true artist is going to know this and bring it out in a photo. If they don't, you've got the wrong person. And I'm sorry to say, your wife does not have an artists eye. I think you will be beautiful - and if you are not together, it will be a little creepy of your wife to hang a (tasteful) nude photo of just herself on your walls. |
