yep, here I am four hours later, on my way to work. Is any body else even up? You're all out having fun, I know it. Sorry for the profanity in the previous post, I was pissed at my body (for not falling asleep) and the sucky schedule!

Hey AB, sounds like you are already at work but I was up.  I made myself sleep in as long as I could.  First Saturday in a long time without getting up at 4 am to workout.  I slept in all the way to-------5:15am!  Big freakin deal.  Sorry your weekend is off to a rough start.  Hope it gets better by the time you read this.

Yes there are many ways that help to induce the sleeping process. But I hear ya Bear. For the last seven years I have worked 24 hr shifts at the firehouse. Sleep comes at a premium. After getting up 3-5 times a night, it is impossible to stay up when I get off work at 7 AM. Ambien had become a friend. I only take it twice a week.

I was up and down all night.  Right ulnar nerve pain at the elbow.  No matter what position I was in, it was horrible.  I just laid there instead of getting up and onto BT.

I understand your plight as well! The problem is that I've been exhausted every day since last Monday. I can only sleep about 5 hours when I work overnights, so I came into the day shifts tired, and for the past 2 nights have NOT been able to fall asleep in spite of benig so tired. The first night I ended up taking a benadryl which helped. The second night, since I had to be awake at 5:30AM, I was afraid I wouldn't wake up if I took a benadryl...so I made a martini instead. It didn't work.

Try Vikoden.  I 'hear' it will put you out like a light.

I used to work overnights.  10pm to 7am.  Then I started back to school with a regular 9 to 5 schedule.  Talk about screwing you up for months.

When I am having really legitimate back pain, I will do that, I'll take 1/2 of a percocet. I usually get an amazing night's sleep and wake up pain free. I think sleep is a big component of pani management! My post op RX of percs has lasted me over 2 years now. I only take it about once every 2 months or so.

Having that problem right now myself.  After almost a week of sleeping on and off, I can't seem to fall asleep.  And I REFUSE to take any pain medication to help me fall asleep.  Good luck with your problem.

4:30am and my biggest problem is that my body has not realized that I'm no longer on Singapore time.

I purposely only tried to sleep a little bit on the plane home today, but even after trying to fall asleep at a reasonable hour, I just kept staring at the ceiling fan.  Finally decided to call off the attempt and finish the laundry that I brought back.

Nothing is as comforting as the smell of fresh-from-the-dryer laundry, but its still not putting me to sleep.

I have taken a sublingual called GABA Calm. I get it at Vitacost. My understanding is that GABA is a naturally produced amino acid in the brain that stimulates relaxation. I take a GABA Calm and I'm good to go for the night.

Percocet - the Drug of the Gods.

I love Percocet.

Percocet (oxycodone) is on the USADA banned-substances list as a  performance-enhancing drug.

Are you a dirty cheater?
