well, since i don't know any of you guys, i'm assuming you don't know me too well (unless you're an internet stalker LOL) so i'll just ramble on about myself here for a minute or two.
i'm 30 (but i'll be 31 on saturday) i have three kids age 7, 3 and 1. i started running in june of last year as a way to get rid of baby fat, and i did my first tri in september. i didn't do so great, but i finished, so my next goal in life is to actually get in the top 5 or so for age group. my first race of the season will be may 10th (isn't that mothers day??) and i'm also signed up for a BIG race in august-which i'm SUPER excited for. i LOVE to run, i HATE to bike, and i live @ a lake, so i mostly OWS, but not yet, as i still have snow on the ground.
i'm married to a cop type guy and we just had our 10th anniversary, my house is on the market because i REALLY need to move. oh yeah, and i'm addicted to diet coke, and victoria's secret. (great combo i know ) i'm sorta loud, a little loony, i think "plucky" works pretty well (hey at least she didn't call us "perky pineapples" LOL!!!) i'm no good at being capitan, but i'm pretty ok at leaving inspires (as long as SOMEONE cooks up one of those handy chart things to put on my blog-other wise i have a heck of a time navigating!! LOL)
other than that, i'm just your plain ordinary house frau.
all right, end of introduction, someone else's turn.

OK, my turn.

My name is Tammie(really Tamara) and I am 46 year old, married, stay at home mum to a seven year old boy. DH is an Electrician. Oh and I'm from Australia, so it will be amusing to figure out the time differences.

I used to do tris a few years ago, my last one being an OD that I completed injured. Didn't return to tris as I found it too hard to fit in the training....I think I was just making one of my very convincing excuses to be basically lazy. I did continue running as that is my first love.

Alas, my body doesn't like me running as much I would like so I felt the need to cross train. So here I am and I am really inspired rejoining the triarthlon community.

I think if I had found this BT site years ago I would never have given up... I'm really enjoying these challenges.

So Bring It On.

i passed it around a little last night, well, to the lava team and the turtle team.
if you go to www.photobucket.com and do a search for pineapples, there were TONS of funny pics on there! i put that one in my blog, but if you don't have to have a peep avitar for april, and you want a pineapple, go take a peek

so anyone have plans to swim/bike/run today??
i'm hoping to catch a few minutes spinning on the stationary bike later this afternoon
depending on how much time the kids will "allow" me to have to myself.

I'll go

My name's Roni. I'm 37 and have two grown daughters who are 17 and 20 ( yeah, I know, thought I'd get the kids out of the way early ) They have both recently moved into their own places, so my nest is now empty (not complaining though). My DH of 19 years is a power system electrician and travels all over the Pacific Northwest. I go with him a lot of the time and we enjoy running, biking, and hiking in new places together (he's not too sure about the swimming part yet). I started running about a year ago because I decided I wanted to finish a triathlon, after spending most of my life convinced I was just not a runner. I started slow with a jog/walk program and now I actually enjoy running. I finished my first sprint tri last August and my first Half Marathon in February. I have two sprints and an Olymic tri planned this Summer, plus another HM and several other runs.  I love training for races, as it helps me make exercise more of a priority, which in turn keeps me sane (relatively anyway ) and healthy. Glad to meet everyone!

I've got an hour bike and a half hour run planned for today. Hoping I can do it outside, but might have to be on the trainer/treadmill. Weather is looking a little unpredictable today... we'll see.

My DH works all over Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. When our kids were younger it was really hard having him gone all the time. So I understand what your sister is going through. It's pretty nice now though since I can decide when and for how long I want to go with him. I love to be with him, but some of the towns he goes to are REALLY small and he is working all day so I can only stand to be couped up in a hotel room for so long. It'll be nicer now that the weather is getting better though.

Roni, love the doggy! Soooooo cute!

I'll go next...My name is Jocelyn and I'm 33. I am a high school science teacher and live in Long Beach, CA with my husband of 10 years, my 7 year old daughter, and 5 year old son. I was a competitive swimmer when I was younger, but my 20's were a time of too much food and not enough exercise, so I put on a lot of weight. A year and a half ago I decided to do a triathlon and spent a year training for a sprint. I did that sprint in September and have now done 6 races total. I have no plans to move up to Olys yet, as I'm still a BOP sprinter and need to work on that. My swims are decent...even good sometimes, but my bike and run need a lot of improvement. My biggest issue lately is finding time to train, between work and family commitments. So...I think this will help keep me training!

As far as today, Monday is my usual rest day, plus I had a race yesterday and movement is still painful!

Hello team. Lots of new faces (avatars) for me this month. I've been on team with Lyssa.

Kendra, mother of two (30 & 23), grandmother of three (4yr, 3yr & 4 month old), wife of one (ny15298), caretaker of two cats (Shadow & Cassie), librarian, avid reader, walker and tennis player. Live in Georgia, but love to travel.

I did my first 3 tri's last year. Need to plan my schedule for this year, but will do one in July in NC.

I am about to change my avatar to a Peep. It looks like my team may not have reached goal in March. . Luckily I like Peeps. LOL

Who is really good at putting charts together for us to place on our logs? I've tried it a couple of times and usually seem to mess it up. I will forever be in the debt of you if you can do this.

Kendra,

If someone puts a list of links together for everyone's logs....

I'll add the HTML code to turn it into a table for you.

I did the Lava Lamps and Onion Rings last night. (Heh, I love calling them that.)
