Thinking of doing this how is the course?  Is it hilly on the bike and run?  Hills are a four letter word for me.

I only signed up like that. Made sitting on the balance ball a bit uncomfy though! Come race day, I'll be fully dressed all in lycra, spandex and my cape!

This triathlon will be my first, too, if the budget allows.....

Neilman, where in Surrey are you? I am near Guildford mall.... I would like to meet up with someone for a ride sometime, if I am not too slow!!

Contemplating a trip over from the "Island" to do this as my 2nd tri...

I've got fellow "tri-ers" over here trying to convince me to make 2nd an Olympic distance... but, I think I'd like to stick to sprints till my biking improves..

Neilman... how did your first tri go?? What event was it? Guessing it was a good experience if you're looking to do a 2nd one

My first tri (The city of Langley's Tri it triathlon) was much better than expected, it was well organized, I was only hoping to finish under two hours and I did it in 1:42 and both the swim and bike were faster than expected even the run was good.  It was a really fun experience and a the next one has a few BTers in it and one as an official.  I am really looking forward to Walnut Grove, and perhaps Cultus in Sept but not sure yet.  Also I am only doing sprints this year as its my first year want to do the 10k sun run next year before an olympic and planning on doing the peach classic in penticton 2010 as my fist olympic.

Hey Neilman...
Congrats on your first tri results...
Sounds like you've got a solid plan for working up to the Olympic distance events next year!!
Are you following a set training plan for each of the 3 components? That seems to be the hardest thing for me.. finding a plan that I can incorporate into my life..

Thats the thing none of them do fit into my life I have to make the training fit around my life example riding to work running on weekends gym on weekends and TKD when I can and it works for me.  I can't seem to be able to fit an actual training plan into my lifestyle.

Still haven't registered.. I guess I should get my act together..
Hoping to make it a weekend get away... might as well make the most of my time on the mainland..

1) Look for accommodations in North Van area...  as I'll be starting school at Capilano in the fall...
2) Compete in a tri on Sunday...

Seems like a perfect weekend to me

Hoping my plan for the weekend goes as smoothly as the 'online registration' process!!

Anyone got any leads on rental properties.. bachelor/1 bedroom/ "in-law" suites".. in North Vancouver.. around Capilano University?

Looking forward to Sunday.. not familiar with the Walnut Grove area.. so it should be a bit of an adventure... unlike my first tri.. which was around my home neighbourhood!!

HAZ... hope you show up with your helmet and chest covering on Sunday (don't want you to get disqualified due to TRI BC rules!!) Thanks for the 'rental' luck message..
