Agreed.  It hurts.

On the plus side, there is supposed to be a chinook on the way...

I went for a run this AM. 45 minutes. Me and the dog were both frozen.

I've had enough of this.  The worst part is that this coming week it is supposed to get up to around zero meaning the roads that finally got packed down are going to turn into sand soup and become nearly impassable.  Boo!

Just venting my bitterness at having to run on the track. Blech. Broke out the bike and dusted off the trainer though!

Went for a nice run around Glenmore on Saturday. Was supposed to go out again today, but given the temperatures decided to switch for a swim and bike ride. Will it ever get warm again?

I ran on Monday, darn near froze my face off. Today was positively balmy in comparison.

I'm trying to look at it from the perspective that hopefully THIS was our May dump of snow, just a little early. Now we'll have a clear dry May ...

It's gross! My try-a-tri is on May 15 (Edmonton) - am I going to totally freeze to death after the swim?

Is it open water???

I raced in Banff last year in September.  Water was around 10C, air temp maybe 14C, and it was raining on the bike... We survived.

Was that the Subaru series? I'm doing that one this September ..

Pool swim - I'm not worried about during, just after! I'm sure I'll live, I am an Albertan after all Was deciding though if I should swim in my swimsuit and throw dry trisuit (shorts/top) after so I'm not drying out on the bike.

I've decided that just completing the Police Half tomorrow will be an accomplishment. Never mind all the early season training miles and the previous thoughts of a PB ... I think this will be what is considered character building Wink.

The Police Half yesterday was definitely a character builder!  Great to see as many people came out as they did though.

That was the one! If it wasn't so close to IMC though I would definitely do it again this year.  The weather was pretty chilly last year but the weekend before and the weekend after were beautiful, and that the race organizers were mentioning that the year before it was 27C on that same day.

Its got to be one of the most beautiful race courses in North America and the town of Banff really gets into it so I very highly recommend the Subaru Banff race.
