There are soooo many good things to read on this site! I'm a stay-at-home-mom and getting WAY TOO ADDICTED to this site! When I'm not biking with kids in tow or resting my sore muscles - all I want to do is read the posts! Laundry is stacked, kids are a mess, lawn needs to be mowed - but do I care? NO!! Ha! Okay - I care a little.

Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome and not stupid for all my questions! And for all the support you give me and each other. It feels so good to be a part of this.

I've got 75 days left of training before my first tri - and I haven't done any type of competition since HS (14 yrs ago)! I'm very nervous about it. But you all are helping me put those fears aside and JUST DO IT!

Sue Ellen

Often heard phrase at our house;

(Her) "Are you ready to go to dinner dear?"
(Him) "Just a sec...I gotta check Tri-Spot for new messages!"

Enough said!

I know what you guys mean. I'm supposed to be out gardening after my morning training. But here I am replying to a bunch of discussions. It's the first thing I check in the morning and the last thing I check at night. I think I need a life!!!!!

Yes, apparently we are sharing the same one, Evelyn!!

My (other) friends have started to ask questions, and I think they can see that when I say Forum to them, they can tell that it is capitalized!!

Sue Ellen,

I see that you are from Eden Prairie, MN. What race are you doing this summer? I am doing the Tri-America one in St. Paul later this summer. Good luck on your first one. I just did my first one in Alexanderia MN, The Chain of Lakes Triathlon, it was a nice first one cause it was a pool swim.

I definatly can relate to this addiction that youve seemed to develop... I've become convinced that there are some sort of subliminal messages that flash up on the screen, convincing me to come back 5 minutes later and check the posts. But hey, being addicted to something which has kept me motivated and helped me to get off my lazy but sounds like a pretty good addiction to me!

lol, yeah thats very true...maybe we'll all have to allot a specified time to work and a time to check out what everyone is doing on BT... but thankfully i dont have the problem of working at home.. because BT can be very distracting...

Yep...I've got the BT addiction too.
Doing more surfing of postings here than work these days...if I keep it up while at work I'm sure I'll have more time to train sooner than later.

It's refreshing to motivate and congratulate and ask/answer questions of those who have the same goals/interests as myself. NONE of my "friends" would even think about exercising regularly, nevermind train for a tri. So to read about the success of others and questions people ask helps me through this process. ;-)

I just found the site and I think I'm getting addicted too. I find that I worry that my friends will get bored with my constant need to talk through my training and this is an awesome way to be surrounded by folks who can relate! It definitely beats watching TV (okay, unless the Golden Girls are on-which at 27, you'd think there would be some other show that I can't wait to watch, huh?)lol.

Yeah, this place is gonna get me fired.  I just busted an appointment I had earlier today for a phone interview that I had to do because I forgot all about it while reading/posting on this site.

BALANCE. i am addicted too.... i have to balance everything. i love to troll this site, and it motivates me to be hardcore like bear and tricomet. (i just rode 75 miles last weekend, and all i could think of was, bear and tricomet can do it so can I; I also think, this is what you get for eating years of fast food, feel the burn). if there is anything i have learned its BALANCE, and patiance!

The first post is always free.

After that, it's going to cost ya.

No, just joking, they're all free.

And they're all going to cost ya.

Know what you mean. It's now a toss up what I open first in the morning: the electronic paper, my personal e-mail, my work e-mail or BT.  It's a great, great place.

I can stop any time I want, though--really...

last night I used my BT as a motivator: I had to wrap a present, and take something upstairs (my pile of stuff to go up was taller than moi!) then I could play on BT for a minute or two. My partner had to yell down, she'd say, "I still hear clicking! It's ben 5 minutes! Go wrap!" seriously the only way I got anything done was knowing I could take BT breaks. Pathetic.

Great to see you guys are so addicted as to respond to an eighteen-month-old post, but the original poster must have conquered her addiction. She hasn't logged on since August 2004.

the first step is accepting that you have a problem.

Nothing wrong with your grammar, it's your reading comprehension that sucks. Either that, or your Beatle knowledge.
